I shop at the Fredericksburg Costco (3102 Plank Rd #600) regularly, and the food court is a consistent problem. Every visit involves long lines, 10–15 minute waits for simple items like pizza or smoothies, and visibly stressed employees. The area gets crowded due to its proximity to the checkout lanes, making it frustrating for both customers and staff.
Staff members have acknowledged the issue but say management hasn’t addressed it, even after several complaints. A better shift scheduling or making sure one extra person at the food court would make a huge difference. Also, having a register next to the food prep area causes further delays when someone pays with cash—it either needs to be removed or permanently staffed.
Costco usually runs efficiently, but this location's food service needs serious attention.

Crazy atmosphere, need more staff in the kitchen, and maybe a bigger kitchen.

Please bring back the turkey sandwich from before Covid!! 4.99 Turkey and pesto, and it was hot. This 6.99 cold sandwich isn’t even good and it’s cold. The cheese pizza is barely edible. Overall 4 stars because the prices are good

This store needs to work with their personal on moving people through the check out lines. I had to wait for my cart of items purchased so that the checker (helper) could chat with another worker in a check lane. When I finally received the cart the individual did not apologize for the wait he just gave me some sarcastic comment making it sound like it was my fault.I would suggest your train your personal on the using some business sense as this is not a bar with a lot of chit chat.

The Costco Food Court has a number of inexpensive options for the hungry crew. I really enjoy the chicken bake, while the kids get pizza or hot dogs. You can't go wrong with any of the options they offer.

The mango smoothie has a funny taste, and it was the first time that the ice cream was unavailable..

Now that we live in a rural area, it's quite an excursion to go to a Costco! We're smack in the middle of the Costcos in Fredericksburg, Glen Allen, and Charlottesville, with each being about an hour from our house. So, we emptied out the back of the car, put in some coolers and ice packs, and headed to the Fredericksburg store. We found our old favorites -- Cape Cod Chicken salad; Mexican cheese. Some new things that we wanted to try -- Olive Garden salad dressing: hemp hearts. Nice fresh fruits and veggies -- red grapes, banana. And, some good sales -- chicken thighs ($6 off) and Tide Oxipods ($5.40 off). Check-out was relatively smooth; they always seem to be busy! But, the real measure of success? All of our refrigerated items fit into our coolers, and the rest fit in the car!
