The Internet in our "area" goes out on a near weekly basis for multiple hours. I've been told by representatives that it is a result of a malware issue on Cox's end and told it was an issue with the relay for our area. Either way this has been going on for months and has not been resolved. Whenever possible, do not use Cox for internet service.

Cox service is such a scam! I began service with them in December 2022 and every bill I’ve had since I can ALWAYS expect new charges added on. When you call customer service to question the new charges it’s ALWAYS either a promotion that ended that I knew nothing about or you are being charged for the home life camera which I wasn’t even supposed to be charged for in the first place due to a bundle package. Here’s the best part they all get an attitude with you because their logic they’re selling is a complete lie and it pisses them off when you challenge it.

My boyfriend and I moved into an apartment in Fredericksburg which required cox internet. It wasn't what we preferred, as they don't have the best reputation, and version had a better more affordable plan that we've tried and enjoyed. However, due to cox being the only option, we went with them anyway. When moving from a studio in the same apartment complex into a larger 2 bedroom, we made many calls to get our address and service transferred over. Each time they said it was done, and our internet was up and working for a week. Until it randomly shut off, and when we called cox, they told us someone was trying to move in to our apartment (the old studio they still through we lived in) and shut off our services. It took three more calls to supposedly get it fixed, and finally have our proper address in their files. The lady who spoke to us was pretty nice, and she said she got us a discounted bill. So in the ensuing months when our internet bill was much lower than usual, and internet was still working, we assumed we were fully taken care of. Now we have an extra $200 service charge for "not returning" the router, despite not cancelling services!! We'll see what they say in person as we now have to go into the store to sort things out.

They recently changed from US-based & manual customer service (they were able to make accommodations to orders and services) to HORRIBLE Offshore & automated customer dis-service, where the humans don't fully understand what you want, read sales scripts, try to sell you unwanted services, and cannot change anything to accommodate the customer. They are happy to get you to agree to free services and then fail to notify you when those services are no longer free, so they charge you and refuse to allow a refund. So, they just lost me as a customer and I'm switching to Verizon. I hope they're not as bad, but I'm under no illusions. [Just one more thing...Get this: I just disconnected service at my secondary residence at which I get NO MAIL, because there is NO MAILBOX there. My account was set up to receive electronic billing and email notifications and they have my primary address in another state. They just sent me a disconnect confirmation email stating that they plan to send any refund on my account to my secondary residence, which has NO MAILBOX. They told me that because my account is no longer active/disconnected, they cannot change the forwarding address, so if I have a refund due, I probably won't get it. I cannot believe the incompetence!!! At this point, I don't even care about a refund. Good riddance!!!]

Lee was my technician today. He was very polite and professional. In and out very quickly. This is my first time using this service for internet only. I hope this goes better then my Verizon experience. Thanks Lee!

They trenched through my septic tank to run their cable, denied liability, and stuck me with the $12,000 bill. Save yourself the headache/money and just get Verizon.

Terrible service. My home was built less than 2 years ago and every time the power goes out my internet is out for days when none of my neighbors have the same issue. I have to wait 3+ days to get someone to come to my home for a 2 minute service appointment because they installed faulty wiring to my home. STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN!

Don’t come here!! Go to another store! I came to return my equipment and was standing there for about 5 minutes, I understand that the 2 ladies working in the front were kinda busy but still they didn’t ask if I needed help or anything! There was another lady in the back room (office) she just looked at me and continued scrolling on her computer.

We use this internet service for our retail business and it is the most unreliable internet I have ever used, constantly goes out causing issues with cc processing and other business functions that need internet, highly do not recommend

Today I called Cox on behalf of my elderly mother. She wished to cancel her cable service but keep her phone and internet. I was told that this could be done but her monthly bill would only reduce by a few dollars despite her cable costing the majority of her bill. I asked to speak with a supervisor but was not given to anyone. This is simply unacceptable business practice of taking advantage of the elderly. Perhaps the State Attorney would be interested in looking into this.

Every single one of these comments and reviews are true. I pay on time every month but for a entire block of the morning I am unable to use the service I pay for.... it's all about taking and never giving with this company.... you will not get what your paying for whatsoever and when you call to complain about it don't hold your breath for resolution..... they don't care about anything except that you pay that bill.... and honestly not just with cox but with everyone , customer service is a dud..... they read from scripts there's no genuine care at all..... do yourself a favor, save your money and find somewhere you can be appreciated .... if we have to have these bills regardless, at least go where they rate above a 2.8 by pretty much all of their customers
