On 10/24/25 I went to the 956 Bragg Road store in Fredericksburg, VA with 7 items to exchange and I had a receipt for 3 of the items. All I wanted to do was exchange for the 9 items I picked up in the store that day.
Mary, the supervisor/manager on duty told me this dollar tree location does not allow exchanges without a receipt.
According to Mary, this is their Store Manager’s policy and his name is Monk. How is that not a violation of a corporate policy to instill your own policy for the store?
I purchased the items and Mary was very rude.
I looked up the policy on the website again just to be sure I read it correctly and it states you can exchange without a receipt at the current pricing. I called the store and Mary told me that I could take my stuff back to another store but their store will not take it back. She cut me off and was extremely unprofessional, then hung up.
I returned to the store on 10/15/25 with receipts in hand for the remainder of the items I had bought at Dollar Tree and asked for a return . Mary stated to me that I was being petty.
I stated to Mary that I was following their policy, I brought my receipts and now I’m returning all the merchandise I previously purchased . She laughed and turned to the cashier behind her and said “Can you believe this? Can you believe this?” And yes Mary said it twice. I informed Mary that it was not a funny situation to me and I’m allowed to return items. I asked for the Store Manager’s name and the District Manager’s name. She told me I could walk myself in on Saturday and speak to Monk, but she would not be giving me the District Manager’s phone number. She told me her name was Kristen and that she had Kristen on speed dial and she could call her about the situation after I left.
That just tells me that Mary knew she was in the wrong if she is trying to speak to the District Manager before I do, because if you have done nothing wrong then there doesn’t need to be a conversation at all.
Mary told me also that I could take her name do whatever I wanted to with it because she doesn’t care. Yes, that’s obvious that Mary doesn’t care.
Her demeanor was threatening and completely unhinged. I would urge all Dollar Tree customers to stay away from this store location if that’s how they conduct business. This store location deserves zero stars. I would encourage the corporate administration to investigate their day to day activities because there is no telling how many company violations are being committed at this store.

I give this dollar tree no stars because I was just in there with my son and daughter. My son and daughter stayed in the store to grab some cheese while I went to the car and waited for them. My kids come out the store and tell me they kicked my son out because the cashier said something about him not wanting to touch her hand which was a lie because I was standing there the whole time while he checked out before going to get the cheese. Needless to say i feel like he was discrimated on because he has black skin and the employees in the store were white females. I will never return to this dollar tree again based on this experience.

I am so impressed with this Dollar Tree! So clean, so organized ,shelves are stocked with products ! No boxes on carts ,all products are on shelves! Wow! The kind Dollar Tree Associate who helped me check out today was excellent ,polite and efficient! Thank you so much !I was so happy shopping at this Dollar Tree I called the Manager as I was leaving and I told him how wonderful his store was and thank you to all of the employees at this Dollar Tree for all their hard work ,it’s shows as soon as you walk in and as you leave !!!! The store was clean and everything was in good order. This store looked quite a bit more orderly than some other Dollar Tree Stores I've seen. The staff was friendly and prompt.

Everything well clean and nice most the staff is nice, but there is a rude employee her name is Barbra everytime I come here she rude as hell with a serious attitude problem. Made a report to her manager if they don't do something im sure a call to the cooperate office will handle her. Clearly she don't want to work if she can't be nice to people who are nice as can be to her and she's just nasty for no reason, there are people who will gladly and quickly replace her who would be glad to have that job. I come here frequently and im not the only one who's had a problem with her shes gotten nasty with several other customers as well.Edit to add she works morning shift around 9:30am on weekdays
