The waiting time as per internet was only 20 minutes when we got there. Waited for over 3hrs for a provider to see us and had no luck. Not only that after we decided to leave for another facility we got a discharge notification saying who the provider was and to continue with the pain killer that was prescribed 6 months earlier for something completely different.

I would like to counter some of the negative reviews here. My (first time) visit was wonderful. Fairly easy check-in process - about a 15 minute wait to get called back. Triage nurse, attending nurse, PA, x-ray techs were all super nice and caring. Yes, there are waits in between each step but that’s to be expected. All in all we were out the door on the way home in less than 3 hours with a diagnosis, treatment and prescriptions waiting at the pharmacy right around the corner. Definitely a positive experience.

Absolutely mortified by how I was treated this evening, I’m not new to this Hospital. I have been here before and have been treated with the utmost respect And Care from the staff I don’t know what’s going on now. I’m absolutely exhausted and plan to come back here to do a more detailed review on my experience but for one the doctor gave no feedback as to what was going on or not going on with Me seem to be not even interested in answering the two questions I had Nurses gave no feedback handed me my paperwork and said I was good to go and left Me attached to all the leads No advice as to what to do or anything I left Feeling awful Pulling the equipment off myself. I normally don’t even leave reviews. This is a first I’ve never experienced anything like that at this hospital and it wasn’t even busy. I could maybe justify the way I was treated if it was busy and they didn’t have time for me and that’s why I was rushed off so quickly Without any feedback or follow up information. It’s 2 o’clock in the morning what I’m writing probably doesn’t even make much sense at this very moment, but I will be giving a phone call to someone soon absolutely feel awful and humiliated.

This is my first time being seen here, we just moved to the area. I came in for myself and for my son. We both were presenting with coughs and for me high fevers for 3 days. The staff was nice enough. I was concerned when getting chest xrays the tech didn't ask me about possible pregnancy or offer either of us any protection for the rest of our bodies. The wait was long when we were taken back. I was getting chest cramps from pneumonia, they had already told me I have severe in my left lung, I asked if there was anything they could give me. The PA asked me questions about my ride that was going to take me home and about the medication they were going to give me. I explained my older daughter was coming to pick us up (she dropped us off)...and I sat and waited and waited and waited for the antibiotics they wanted me to start and for pain relief. They finally came with the antibiotics with no pain relief. The nurse explained they can't give pain relief, a narcotic, to someone in care of a minor until someone arrives to take over care and when given I'd have to be monitored for 30 mins before discharge. Totally understand that. At that time, I wish it had been explained to me because I had my daughter coming to pick us up at a time they suggested they'd be done with everything...when I could have had her come earlier to get some relief. Fast forward, my daughter comes in the back to get us. The PA and the nurse suddenly appear with my discharge papers and some tylenol saying that they weren't going to give me the pain relief meds anymore and if I needed anything heavier than tylenol to speak to the primary care doctor that they recommended I see...in 3 days for a follow up. Keep in mind I've already had 2 procedures on my lung and being told I have severe pneumonia...getting cramps..that they were no longer going to give me the pain relief meds that I was told I was getting at least 4 if not 5 times by the PA. I don't understand why it seemed they never planned on giving me any meds, and why it was drawn out like a waiting game. If for any reason they didn't feel comfortable giving the meds, say that. I am honestly confused because they are the ones that kept telling me I have severe pneumonia, when I came in I didn't know what was wrong just that I was sick and getting chest cramps and high fevers, and offered what they wanted to give me, and then treated me like a drug seeker. Or at least that's the only way I could explain all the "We're still waiting on your meds to come in" to oh if you're still in pain, now that your ride has shown up and we are going to kick you out...here's some tylenol. Why go through all of that?
It's a long review, but it was the weirdest unprofessional ER visit I've ever had.

The nurses and clerical staff were amazing, my visit was fast. The doctors that saw me treated me horribly, pushed on my wound causing more pain than I've felt before. Barely communicated with me and made me feel like a burden.
My follow up visit with another physician at the same place made me feel bad for being there at all, treated my wound with no concern for how much pain she was causing, and overall was very condescending and rude. I would not come back.

My partner had cancer several years ago and has experienced some complications. EVERYONE we encounter here for this (2nd time) consistently provides the medical experience ever. They are professional, and actually have found things that have been dismissed by our primary surgeon! I can't extend enough thanks for this team. On every level in time of need - both medical and emotionally, this is a God-send. Thanks for all of you.

I have had the misfortune of needing the services of this dept three times in the last several months, but my misfortune aside...it has been quite consistently pleasant and professional with all the staff. A wonderful and accessible service to our area!

This is by far the worst hospital! Took my grandson to get checked out and it took 3 hours for him to get a X-ray! And for 3 hours no one even came to update my daughter on the wait or even check on my grandson. I literally sat in the parking lot watching people leave that came in after me. Never ever will I ever come to anything affiliated with Mary Washington! Every location is trash!! They don’t care about you at all

Every single person I encountered, from the security guard, receptionist, every nurse and every doctor, to the ultrasound tech was kind, caring, efficient and helpful.
