WARNING: Mike Brown (at IGarage auto restoration shop) at 105 Cambridge Street in Fredericksburg, VA.. I wrote a detailed repair contract with Mike Brown (NOT IGarage) for my 1971 Chevelle Convertible on 1/10/2021 (three year ago) to get it fully restored and he is trying to get out of that contract now. IGarage called it a “side Job”---not approved by their management. Yet, IGarage took control of my contract and has held my 1971 Chevelle Convertible hostage along with refusing to let me see it (for almost three years now) citing IGarage business practices which in NOT in my contract when Mike Brown agreed to and signed on 1/10/2021 -- AGAIN, This was NOT AN IGARAGE CONTRACT. After given Mike Brown a deposit of $10,000 cash because he did not want it reported to the IRS - - I had given him cash many times before when he worked on another car of mine and I had not problems that time. IGARAGE should not have anything to do with my car and stopping the owner (me) from seeing or provide him requested pictures (requested many, many times) on the status of his car – over a three years period violates his rights as the owner. I called the police on 10/18/2023 and they were very nice….saying they understand my concern and that Mike Brown/IGarage should work it out with me (owner of car) asap. I tried to work it out with them in front of the police but they still refuse to let me see my car citing again IGarage business practices…they just wanted more money over and above the agreed to contract value (told the police they has spent over $10,000 in cost so far resulting in a lost for them) -- up front first! IGarage management demanded for me to pay the balance amount of the contract (trying to defraud me for over $13,000) without me seeing my car and they said only halve of work being completed on the car...WOW.

WARNING: IGarage -Mike Brown (an auto restoration shop) at 105 Cambridge Street in Fredericksburg, VA is a "Rip-Off shop". If you agreed to a final price up front and after you give them say $10,000 in deposit - (like I did) they will come back and continue to ask for more and more money over the initial agreed to price - then you end up locked into them finishing a car /truck--EVERY TIME! This happen to me the first time, so I wrote a detailed contract with Mike Brown the second time on my car-- 1/10/2021 and they are trying to get out of that contract now. I have asked several times for them to provide me the status of my car and they have refused to send me pictures (as promised) and would not let me see it until I called the police on them today - 10/18/2023 (almost three years later). After working with the police, they still refused to let me see my car citing they business practices---VERY BAD Business practices! They even demanded for me to pay the balance amount of the contract (Over $10,000) without me seeing my car after three years or any work done to complete my car. I am sharing this with you so this will not happen to you. This is a VERY BAD BUSINESS to get work done on your car. Other people have shared with me many bad stories (like they load your car up with a lot of bondo, pieces coming apart, etc.) with me but did not want to come forward! If you want to get ripped off...Go to this business or I recommend you just stay away!

I took my Jeep in for rust repair spots on the side of the tub. Mike and his crew were able to repair the area, sand it down and you can't even tell there was any damage prior. While there, they showed previous examplies of their work. What I didn't know, is that this is a full custom shop, not just body work. So if you need anything custom done they can do it here.Services: Body & Trim

Mike and his team understood our vision for our 1968 Mustang Convertible and its restoration. It sat in our garage for almost 30 years waiting for the right time to be resurrected. It took time for it to be completed but it was totally worth it. The car is a head turner and I Garage made it possible for us to enjoy driving it again.

Inadvertently posted the original review under wife's account. Tried to delete the comment and move it to my account however after witnessing the deceptive way in which my original comments were deleted from Facebook, and denied having taken place on Google reviews, I felt compelled to leave an additional comment under my account.IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING MY ORIGINAL POST (see Michelle Chaves review below) I was contacted (within 24-hours) by two of the owner/managers.The gentleman i met in person messaged following my review, apologized and said he was sick and was very busy mixing paint at the time of my visit which was why he was so impatient with me, but then added that he originally "had intentions of coming to look at the car." However when we met face to face the day before the review, he told me that he didn't have the time or the energy after a long day's work to go to someone's house (see attached pic). When i questioned him as to "why" he didn't tell me this over Facebook, he quickly responded with "you didn't ask".The second owner/manager called me the same day (Thursday 27-Aug) and said that the gentleman I met at the shop had suffered the loss of two loved ones in the past couple of weeks/month, and that they were currently very short staffed due to COVID. When I asked why either her or the gentleman I met simply call/message me with a "sorry we're booked" message, she had no response. I commented that it was amazing how up until I left a negative post about the lack of communication, I had received little to no contact from the shop or the owner despite my pleas to arrange an estimate. The owner who called me apologized and then begin to insinuate that I should remove my less than favourable review because she is a "God fearing woman" and implied that I should somehow feel guilty about posting something negative despite having not having conducted business with them. Both owner/managers stated that one of the other shops in the area that I planned to seek out, "Classic Car Center" were good friends of theirs and were backlogged with 2-years worth of work (see pic 3).Rather than try to arrange some sort of compromise for getting the work done that I had originally requested, the owners have deleted the Facebook review (presumably by blocking) and have claimed (under the original negative Google review, see pic 4) that "to my knowledge, I have never been contacted by this person." which technically is correct (the post was under my wife's account). However there is a phone log and (540)841-XXXX Fredericksburg phone number with an 11-minute conversation between the owner and myself that clearly contradicts her lapse in memory about talking to me. It appears less than honorable for a "God fearing woman" to deny knowledge of a somewhat disagreeable 11-minute conversation only the day before, AND for her to delete the negative Facebook reviews whenever/wherever possible. Makes me question how many other negative comments have be deleted.Attempts like these to deny/hide interactions, rather than work something out compel me to make sure that future customers are aware of previous transactions. This is particularly true when you're dealing with a high-dollar service business like this that typically requests some money up front before they begin work. Once they have your money, the customer is wedded to whatever service the shop chooses to provide.Lastly and once again... there were some very nice cars in the back that I could see however I did not get a close look, so I cannot speak to the quality of craftsmanship. My complaints do not have anything to do with services paid for or charged by with iGarage. They have everything to do with my treatment PRIOR to even consider doing business with iGarage followed by their deletion/denial of my transparent comments about their lack of communication. If you're considering this shop, strongly recommend you go in person and get a feel for the work

Contacted iGarage via Facebook and received a less than enthusiastic response about my project. Requested whether I should bring the car by, or if someone might possibly be able to come to the car to provide an approximate estimate. A couple days later I received a request for my address. I provided and received no response following that. Waited a little longer and asked if this was a project they were currently capable of handling and received no response. Went to the location in person and was greeted with a less than enthusiastic owner/manager who basically said he was too busy to respond to my messages and basically couldn't do the work.I've done several restorations and dealt with multiple body shops over the years. If this is the kind of communication that precedes giving them any money for work...typically the communication gets worse once they have some or all of your money.Glad I went in person to learn the ground truth about the operation. There were some nice projects going on so I really can't speak to the quality of work, however the operations management and communication leave a lot to be desired...at least from the perspective of a potential customer. Seems like they need an operations and/or business manager. Will go with Southern Classics, Huber Collision, or Classic Car Center and hope for better results.
