Lewis comes over. Looks around. Gives an idea or two after 10 min. Ask for $49.00 check and says, " you know our number". Jumps in his car and leaves.

Meadows Farms always comes through for us, whether it's Halloween pumpkins or Christmas trees. Even last minute, we always find a nice selection.

We went last Saturday and spent $33 on 3 pumpkins (1 was for soup) we picked out of cardboard palates. We carved 2 Sunday afternoon. They stayed on the table until Friday night, when they went on the porch. Today, Saturday, they are shriveled and moldy. They lasted less than a week. You can tell by the ring on the bottom that they were frozen at one point, which I would bet caused them to weigh more, broke cell walls and caused this short life. I understand ymmv when it comes to buying vegetables, but ours have always lasted more than 1 week, especially when kept inside.I have never been more dissappointed with a pumpkin-picking experience, and will not go back. Also, I found this location's signage extremely misleading.

We are very disappointed with the sod Meadows Farms installed for us this spring. We were skeptical about using a full sun variety under trees but were reassured by their professional that it would take. It did not. We followed all directions given to us at the time of installation. It appeared fine for about a month or so, and then browned over time in different patches and died. Sod is not covered under their warranty conveniently enough, but we can pay them to come out and reinstall for another $10,000. I don’t think so. Very dissatisfied and we won’t be using their services again, which is also disappointing because we try to support local businesses.Update 9/4/23:Chris, a manager at Meadows Farms, was in contact with us and visited our house last week to see the situation. He agreed that we should have more grass growing than we do now and he pointed out some places where the sod was not in contact with the ground that may have impacted water drainage. He promised to replace what’s there this fall and to get grass to grow at no additional costs to us.When I had first contacted Meadows Farms about the sod dying off, I had thought its dying was part of the reseeding process discussed at the initial consultation, so I wasn’t upset at all. However, after being put on hold, the customer service representative immediately came back on the phone with “What do you expect us to do about it? If the grass had died after a day or so we might have come out and replaced a patch or two, but not after months” and “…You should have read your contract…” and “I guess it will take another $10,000 for someone to come out to your house.” So after complete dismissal and blatant rudeness from this customer service representative, I felt we were being scammed. She should have politely transferred us to a manager instead of becoming confrontational and aggressive. Maybe, Mr. Meadows, you could provide training or have clear policies for your employees to follow because this could have been avoided.

August 2023 by I Am Sharon
It is mid season (early August) and I am looking for sugar snap peas to add to my garden. I thought I had some seeds in my seeding inventory, but I don't. Instead of buying seeds somewhere, I thought I would call Meadows Farms to see if they had any seedlings or plants. I normally drive all the way out to the one near Dulles airport, because the service there is impeccable and the inventory vast, but then I recalled they had other locations closer to me. To avoid driving all over the DC/MD/VA and around the beltway, I thought to call and save myself time.I know at the Dulles location (off Route 50), they have people who work the cashier and phone, as well as people outside in the nursery, walking by asking if folk's need help. I figured whoever answered the phone could ask someone to check - all it would take was a 10-minute phone call, at most. Instead of burning gas, I could let my fingers do the walking.JULIA was not having any of that. She wants me to drive around the beltway and burn gas and waste time. I call. She answers the phone. I explain my situation. She told me bluntly, "Your best bet is to just drive here and look for yourself."I took a breath.I explained that I didn't want to have to drive to all of their 16 locations if I didn't have to do that. She went into explaining how they buy from Bonnie and blah, blah, blah. Nothing that explained why she couldn't walk back to where the plants were (or have someone else do it) and tell me if they had the plants or not.Simple customer service, Julia. And if they didn't have the time or resources at the time, she could have taken my phone number, called me back when they did and that would have been just fine.No. Julia wasn't feeling customer friendly today, so guess what? My wallet isn't feeling Julia or this Meadows Farms. As a matter of fact, my wallet isn't feeling any of the Meadows Farms today.I'll spend my money elsewhere. Thank you, Julia!

I went to Meadow Farms today to buy 10 bags of mulch and learned that the Military Discount doesn’t apply to mulch! No one could tell me why?! It was a corporate decision was what they said. The service was good but corporate needs to rethink their decision because people who served their country buy mulch ?

I am so disappointed. I was so excited when we bought 4 full, beautiful cherry trees. They were purchased on April 17th and delivered over 3 weeks later. It was clear that they did not water and care for them during that time because when they were received clearly not the same vibrant trees we picked out. They are looking awful so we called Meadow Farms and said we didn't think the tree were getting enough water because of the clay/top soil mixture they were planted in. We were told that we were watering to much and to stop.

We shop here a lot. I’d like to see more straight natives. American Beauty is deceptive because they are mostly cultivars w some straight natives mixed in. The majority of staff is awesome. Juli(?) is perpetually annoyed with customers and clearly unhappy to be there.

Wide array of plants and trees but very difficult to locate anything you may be particularly looking for.Need to have signs at eye level instead of on the ground on little 5x7 cards.Everyone was busy unloading a delivery so I didn't want to bother anyone. I'll try going back another time.

I've been dealing with that place since they opened I went and got some straw today I was shocked at the $15 a bail price and it was moldy and wet. But if it's plants you're looking for they got about everything under the sun

Meadows Farms in Plank Road has a much better variety of trees, plants, and service is very nice. Conveniently located and with ample parking this nursery is one of my favorites.

I have never been so disappointed with a company that I have done business with for years. Upon moving to my new home I contacted their landscaping and design services and purchased several THOUSAND dollars worth of evergreens, bushes , and rosé bushes. The crew came out to install them several months later and things went down hill from there. The bushes and evergreens were not planted correctly, I sent one plant back because it was nearly dead, three other green arborvitae were near death too but they assured me the would live-wrong, they sent an inspector and were replaced with smaller ones, but when I called and told them -they had to send a inspector to verify. One green giant was broken by the crew when it was installed, when I brought it to their attention I was told all green giants look "wonky " for a while but would be fine. Wrong. After yet another inspection, another crew came out to replace it. BUT they replaced the thicker healthy one. Which was the WRONG one-Just got off the phone with their "customer service " department-only to get an attitude from someone named Steve-who told me -you guessed it-they're sending out another inspector in 5 days. To be continued....
