This is such a horrible bank, every time I come in there’s an issue and random “bank policy” that they can’t even show proof of. They recently just had to repay my spouse almost 800 back in wrongfully charged fees. Glad I closed my account with them today.

I chose NSWFCU ( now Topside) for a personal account in 2012 as a school social worker in King George County.I again chose NSWFCU for a business account in 2017 when I opened up a private practice to provide affordable mental health care in the community.I did this to support local businesses. However, this credit union will not protect me as a customer and part of the community.There was a death in our family this month, and I took time off to take care of the cremation, etc. My account was low and went into the negative due to electronic charges that I was unaware of. I was charged $32 for attempted charges as low as $5, and Topside continued to allow charges even though the account was negative.I have over $400 in NSF fees this month from unauthorized electronic debits attempted multiple times.I have not written bad checks that have bounced or taken advantage of Topside.Topside ( formerly NSWFCU) has denied my request to stop charges and only allow deposits. I have only been told that there is nothing that they can do while my account is in the negative.Like most Americans, $400 is a significant amount. This situation has led to other essential bills being unpaid.I am disappointed that a credit union in our community will hang people out to dry in a difficult time only to make profits.I would encourage community members and small business owners to reconsider their relationship with Topside FCU since they do not adhere to the values that keep our families safe and thriving.Dawn Cooperstein LCSW (formerly Weisenberger )

Worst bank i've been with. I wouldn't offer them half of a star. They operate like a startup when they've been in business for over 50 years.Their inconsistencies will continue to stunt their growth.-They have inconsistent agent messaging. Agents on the phone and chat do not share the same answers to questions-They'll cut off overdraft protection if they think your address is wrong, when it isn't. They don't communicate via phone or email when this happens...only by mail. The same method they claim doesn't work.-They don't work as well as other banks with Apple Pay-Inconsistent in replies to loan requests (2/4 i've applied for have gone unanswered).-They've changed their check HOLD policies requiring you to wait over a week to get funds even though checks typically clear within 3 business days. Their website and mobile app shows the date the check clears, and then another date where funds are supposed to be released... and that date has changed 3 times in the past 24 hours. Great new policy, and great execution.-I see different agents almost monthly in branches, likely because their retention skills need help. I feel like i'm talking to someone who is undergoing training EVERYtime I call.-Agents overpromise (callbacks, email followups etc.), but under-deliver at-least 50% of the time-Their fraud process is dated and outsourced-Their hours have gotten worse, making the bank quite unappealing to potential newcomers-Their online help center is a pdf documentThis is my last year with this bank.

The Massaponax Branch Office DOES NOT treat everyone equally!!! I was harassed and discriminated against; a policy change now requires mask be worn by everyone even if you are vaccinated. 1st issue the notification on the door looks like Topside old statement that gave the customers a choice to wear a mask if vaccinated. 2nd issue a female teller who was not providing service demand my family put on mask and stopped the guy teller from completing my transition until our mask were secured in place. 3rd issue the same unoccupied female teller did not force the other female customer being service by another male teller to put on a mask. The male tellers did not force the customers to wear mask or tell them they should. This unoccupied female teller demanded that the male customer wear a mask or no service did not apply this policy to the female customer even though she was standing less the 6 feet from the unmasked customer. I have been a member a very long time and have had business in a number of other branch offices and would never ever been treated this way by the personnel in those offices. Very POOR training leads to POOR customer service.

Look at all the good reviews.. They’re paid for not actual customers.. They will steal money from your savings account then when confronted about it they do nothing (not overdraft btw just a standard saving that I had money in). Extremely hard to get ahold of too. Worst bank I’ve ever felt with in my life, just closed my account out.

Easy to send an application to, they started the communication with me then gone....just gone. I have sent several E mails and calls and no resolution. I love the reps, but the back office underwriting it lacking good customer service. I expect communication and movement. Still no resolution to my Heloc app.

The website said the bank was open but no one was there. I had to call only to find out that it was closed “due to unforeseen circumstances”.

This bank is not good for business customers. They don't do anything for us while we need sba ppp loan .i dont recommend this bank for business owners I really disappointed.

worst credit Union i have ever had. Terrible customer service, they are not secure with personal information & mismanaged account. I have call recordings and documents showing how awful they are. No one from management cares. closing all accounts & moving to a credit union who cares.
