If I could give zero stars.. I would. There was only one stylist working, her name was V. My mother told V what she wanted: her hair to fall just below her shoulders, long layers, and to have her part on the right side giving her a left side bang. V then suggested that my mom try a new layering technique, which would have been fine if she was familiar with the technique. Instead, V looked up a YouTube video on her phone and was using my mother as a guinea pig for a new skill. Which was an IMMEDIATE red flag for me, and seemed so unprofessional. I included a video I took, hopefully you can make out that she is playing the video on her phone for instructions as she cut my mother's hair. V kept assuring my mother that she was a professional, and it was ok because they were professional videos.Prior to the cutting starting, V said that she needed to wet my mother's hair down. Rather than using the battery powered spray bottle sitting on her station, V took my mother to the sink station and wet her hair down with ice cold water. After that, she started her attempt to detangle my mother's hair with a flimsy comb. Her long, thick hair, now cold and wet was all knotted, so with each stroke of the comb my mother's head jerked back. V complained of how thick her hair was, but then stated that she guessed that was a good think considering when people age they tend to loose their hair. V then asked my mother if she smoked, and after my mother confirmed, V stated "yup, I can smell it coming from your hair." My blood was boiling at this point and I was hoping my mother would just pop up and say enough was enough. But she sat there and took it.Towards the end of the cut, V would use the thinning sheers on my mother's hair, and then regular scissors to just cut even everything she just did. I'm not sure what she thought that was doing, but it seemed counter-productive to me. V would also comb out my mother's hair to check that everything was even, realized she failed to cut a bunch of hair that was still from the original length. V would chuckle and kept repeating "that's why we check."My face must have said what I was thinking and feeling, because V started making excuses as to why the layers didn't look good. She kept telling my mother "well you know, aging hair.." and kept repeating "aging hair." My mother, who is very self conscious about her aging features, I'm sure felt even worse at this point. V then started telling my mother how dehydrated her hair was, and that the "layers would look better if you hydrated your hair." She told her that she needed to switch from well water to bottled water, and that the well water was the problem causing her hair to be dry and frizzy.V decided herself where my mothers' hair should be parted and then cut even more length off. Parting everything on the top of her head to the right most corner of the head. V never did cut bangs, or attempt to angle the hair to frame the face. When I asked my mother, "didn't you want it angled around your face," attempting to hint something that not satisfactory, V just replied with a stern, "I did."When V was finished, my mother couldn't wait to get out of here. Her eyes glassy from holding back her emotions. At check out my mother was silent, and when V asked "well do you like it?" My mother only answered "it's fine." and on our way out the store V could be heard shouting "hydrate Momma, hydrate."When her hair dried it sits at her shoulders, shorter than she requested. When we got home I found more hair that was uneven, sitting below the rest of the newly cut strands. I've included a picture. I had to finish cutting my mother's hair myself. Adding bangs, cutting even what was missed. I kept trying to assure my mother that she was beautiful, her hair was beautiful, that her hair didn't stink and it wasn't brittle and aging. I know nothing about cosmetology or hair, but I know

I went here looking to get a good bit of my hair cut off after having it long all my life.I was definitely nervous about it and going as short as the style I want Rebecca did a amazing job helping me out and cutting and styling my hair. She went as far as cutting it short slowly till I got to the length I wanted and asking and explaining about layers and bangs. She did a great job and I love my new hair cut.
