Knowledgeable, experienced, friendly staff. Excellent selection of painting tools and equipment. This store reminds me of the small town paint store in south Georgia I went to frequently during my college summers when I worked as a painter. They seem to know evryone, and a new customer is treated like a new friend. Paint is expensive, and this store sells high quality paint. It's worth the cost.

This is an awesome store. Staff was 5 stars. Right when I walked in I was greeted and helped. They helped with through a large order effortlessly and Travis was really great to work with. Paints obviously top quality as well, I highly recommend this store. Will be getting all my paint here. Great job.

*I've edited this review and changed my stars as the response was very kind from management and they understand why I was a bit taken back. Everyone has an off day and I guess I was having one too, as this isn't the type of review I usually leave.
I really do think the gentlemen who was there was having an absolutely great experience, so they very obviously care about their customers, I just picked the wrong time I think. I'm leaving the original below for now, because it was my perspective.
No one greeted me, two employees sat in the back at the registers talking to someone about hunting families in Spotsylvania for quite a while. I'd never been into a brands paint store, usually I just grab from Lowes but thought I might get some more specific help but instead I tried to fumble my way through myself on google - which is even less help than I get from Lowes!
They looked over at me twice, continued for another 5 minutes or so - as I realized I was going to have to figure it out by myself and if I was going to do that I might as well pay another store - one employee did approach me when his conversation came to an end. I was put off by the expierience and I'd figured out a colour at that point - so I politely declined help, explained why - he apologized while trying to lie about what he was helping the gentlemen with - "We were talking about his paint job." You weren't - you were talking about hunting, I didn't even hear the word paint for the 5/10 minutes I was in the store- which is fine but frustrating to need help and I guess I set my expectations too high. Even a hello, we're finishing up but I'll be right with you - would have given me an indication I would be helped at some point and wasn't just being ignored.
So I can't say they don't give great customer service though - whoever was in there apart from myself got amazing service, so I gave two stars for him! I hope he enjoys his paint very much.
I'm off to buy my small few hundred dollars worth of paint from some place else. Maybe these places are only for contractors and I made a mistake going or had the wrong expectations?

I have been purchasing Benjamin Moore paint from this store since March of 2023. On each occasion, the guys at the store (Trevor and Tyler) have been very helpful in helping me match existing colors in my home. Their ability to match the exact color from a paint chip is remarkable! Their suggestions and friendly attitude towards me has made me a repeat customer when I need paint. I love the way that Benjamin Moore paint goes easily on the wall. My home was painted with this paint 20 years ago and still looked good. You get what you pay for in terms of a high quality paint. Now that I am giving my home interior a "paint refresh", I know that I can count on Spectrum Paint in Fredericksburg, VA to provide me with quality service in the future. If you want quality paint and supplies, make this store your place to shop! Thank you Trevor and Tyler.

Don't go there around closing time. The Lady was very passive aggressive. Specifically, "what can I help you with here at closing time " although, it was 4:45 when we arrived, the store was srill open for business. My wife and I came to get get a couple of swatches and leave. We didn't feel very welcomed. The day prior when I came into the store, my experience was great. The ge tleman helped me and provided great customer service. Not sure if it was because it was close to closing time or not, However I feel everyone should be treated the same, from the time your store opens until the time it closes. During these days and times, I can't possible see how a company can work to discourage customers.

One younger gentlemen attempted to show customer service skills. Young lady and senior man were condescending to me. I was ready to look past it and purchase some paint, but it continued towards me, so I walked out taking my business elsewhere. They will never know how much business they lost after talking down to me as the customer, and me walking out. I pray for them.
