I participated in a golf tournament here for the first time. It was a great venue for a first time golfer like me.

The facilities weren't great. They were behind on grass cutting due to recent rainfall. Rough was very long...it pays to stay in the fairway! Overall not great, but not bad.

If you need help with your golf game see David Oates! He got to the root cause of my problems and in a fairly short time got my swing looking much better!

My now husband and I had been working with SVGC for some time since we shifted our wedding date out a year. The previous administration here we were fine with, although there were some clerical errors made in our favor.
Once the new administration team came on board they said she could not find our original contract, which is not necessarily on them. We had several communication issues, they started changing policies, we were supposed to get the cottage and then they started doing renovations on it and thought the equivalent would be a hotel room, so many things were forgotten in communication, it just became too difficult to communicate with them that we hired a day of coordinator. I’m skipping a lot of details to really just get this over with, but if you for whatever reason choose to book your wedding here, make sure you have everything in writing but even then it still may difficult to keep things honored because of “new policies” and changes. Even though I made a seating chart for my wedding, the chairs were set up wrong the day prior in the wrong spot my day of coordinator communicated to them. Family and the groom had to step in to help, I didn’t see them trying to fix the chairs when it was their job to do so. I will say the food was delicious after I gave my feedback to the Chef, he did amazing!! Really disappointed that we feel this towards the venue that hosted our wedding but we are relieved to be finished working with SVGC.

Nice facility, course is in good condition and has a decent pace of play. My group played in 4.5 hrs. on a Saturday.

We choose this site initially for the views and fair pricing, but Tracey and the golf club went beyond our expectations for our wedding and I couldn’t have asked for more even if I wanted to! She was basically a wedding coordinator, helping us plan several months ahead of the wedding, making sure the food was right (chef is amazing and they accommodate to many dietary restrictions), managing people on the day of the ceremony, and just overall unmatched communication skills. Part of the package deal was staying on campus the night before (which housed all of the wedding party comfortably), and the night after. Thank you all for everything!!

Visited from out of state and really enjoyed the courses We played the Blue and the Red courses. Staff was very friendly, both in the clubhouse and at the grill/bar.
The Blue was a great layout. Rolling hills and generous sized greens. Not a lot of bunkering. Greens rolled true. There were a few fairways where they were seeding some areas, but all-in-all, a fun trek.
Played the Red course on the back 9. Immediately noticed the smaller greens! #1 Red green is about the size of my living room. Again, greens rolled true, if you can hit them. Really enjoyed the layout, and birdied #9 to beat my playing partner.
Good time at a nicely laid out course.

Beautiful course! Doing some construction after purchasing The Links but will be even better after that is completed.

Our wedding on 7/20/2024 at Shenandoah Valley was everything we could have wanted and more! After touring a few venues at the beginning of our wedding planning process, we made our decision easily after meeting with the SVGC team as they were flexible, accommodating, and ready to make our day what we wanted it to be. Once we selected SVGC as our venue, they were very responsive to communicating/meeting with us when requested and making sure our wants/needs were met. Even with a few changes in staffing, our wedding day didn't skip a beat. A special shoutout to Janet for making everything go as smoothly as possible. In addition to Janet, the wait staff was amazing as well as the bartenders. I highly recommend SVGC if you're looking for an affordable wedding venue that is flexible, doesn't have a ton of rules and regulations, and is ready to make your day what you want it to be. In addition, the two houses that they have on site are great to use for bridal party spending the night/getting ready as well as the night after the wedding for guests to stay. It was a beautiful night that we will remember forever, and we have the team at SVGC to thank for that!
