Before I found Craig Van Lines, I had already received several long distance moving quotes from national providers. I wasn’t satisfied with the service, nor did I feel the quotes were accurate. I then did a quick Google search and found Craig Van Lines. I read all the rave reviews and learned that they were a local family company, and pretty much the rest is history. They were so helpful from the moment I received an in-person quote, to my delivery day, which they met both on day and time. Thanks Craig Van Lines for the great customer service!

The crew did an excellent job throughout the entire process. The price was one of the best out there.

These guys met an exceeded all expectations. They arrived on time, required no supervision, and handled all belongings with care. Extremely professional and courteous! If I could give them 20 stars I would.

We recently used Craig Van Lines for our long distance move and they were fantastic. Not only were they the best value out of all the moving quotes we received, it is truly a family business and you will be treated like family when you use them. Their packers and movers were all professional and the storage was simple and straightforward. I would highly recommend Craig Van Lines for anyone looking.

It was an excellent experience from beginning to end. We had Craig Van lines pack up and store about all of our house until we found and purchased a new home in PA. Packing, storage and delivery all went incredibly well!

They were great! Requested a quote, they came out the next morning. Gave them a weeks notice for the move and they we able to accommodate that! Moved us from Northern Virginia to Charlotte and the total was less than the estimate! We received a refund check in the mail about a week later. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!

We looked into Craig Van Limes based on recommendations by a neighbor. The estimate they provided was pretty close to the final price, which was nice. They were a little late on packing day, but we’re quick and efficient. Moving day came and they were also quick. There was one incident throughout the experience, which I want to discuss below, but all our items were moved into our new house without incident. They were extremely careful moving articles into the new home, and our stuff was undamaged. As far as the incident referenced above. We had made a stop at the Public Storage unit where we had stored some items. They had loaded everything up, and had started to back the truck. I’m still it precisely sure how it happened, but the truck demolished my drivers side mirror. One of the movers immediately took pictures and called their office. At first we were told to get estimates or to go to a body shop. I explained that the vehicle was a lease and we had to go through the dealer. Management gave me a call and we discussed the issue, as the car was not street-legal (due to no mirror) and I had to get it repairs before a business trip. They told me to go and get the repairs done and send them the invoice. We had it fixed the next day, sent them the invoice, and were notified a few days later that everything was good to go. We received the check for the full amount charged by the dealership.Honestly the way they handled the incident with the car was fantastic. We were really worried, but it was fine.I also want to emphasize that they were quick and professional, and our goods were delivered without damage to either the goods, the apartment we moved from, or the new construction we moved to. If we ever have need for a moving company again I would not hesitate to contact them.

We moved from Maryland to Massachusetts in the summer, and first, the movers showed up more than an hour ahead of time we were told. This created a lot more stress and confusion. The guys were very rough on boxes, crushing many as they stacked them and slammed them from one place to another. They were pleasant and efficient, I will give them that. Papers to sign were shoved into my face upon their arrival, I had not seen full contract and insurance policy in advance, this turned out to be a MAJOR problem. The day of your move is not the time to be reviewing important documents and they should have provided in advance. I was told they would be moving my belongings to their warehouse to combine with another family to move north. About a week and a half later, they moved just my belongings to Massachusetts to storage. Again, the times I was quoted were not correct, they were this time about an hour late, I had to wait. I was with the movers all day. Later when I completed my inventory, Cindy Craig told me, oh I am sorry, we don't cover items lost once you move into storage. I had a damaged table, and at least 3 lost boxes, possibly more because the stickers didn't match their inventory, many items were not even on the inventory. They removed power cords from two of my TVs and lost those as well. When I filed the claim I was told again it wasn't their fault items were lost, even though they DEFINITELY lost my items in their warehouse. Many boxes were crushed and upside in the storage unit and it is a miracle that items were not broken. The move was OK, but the way Cindy and staff handle the loss of my items is so unacceptable. They could care less, and probably have my lost boxes in their warehouse. I have not received my reimbursement from damaged table covered by insurance either. I would NOT recommend this company as they just don't care much about people's precious belongings. I wish I had read the reviews as I see now this is a common theme. As well as increase in price, that happened to me as well.

My 86 year old mother contracted with you to pack and move her. The packers labeled EVERY box as miscellaneous. What? The movers left most of the very heavy boxes in the garage of the house. They put the beds together, then proceeded to stack boxes on and in front of dressers and entertainment center so that we could not see that the mirrors and tvs were not set up. 3 weeks later, we've been unable to get these things set up due to the weight of the items. POOR SERVICE!

I spoke with seven movers, three of whom did in-home estimates. Craig's was compatible with the others for cost, and they had moved a friend long-distance a few months ago. Andrew's walk-through estimate was thorough and he answered many questions. Based mostly on the friend's recommendation, though, I chose Craig Van Lines. PROS: - Driver EDWIN CAMPOS! If he's not employee of the year, I can't explain why. He worked his tail off, and the entry drive to our new rural property is not exactly a wide, paved road. - The crew on the distant end (Bryan, TX) was AMAZING! What took two days to pack and load in Alexandria, VA took about 5 hours to unload and place in appropriate rooms. They listened. They asked questions when they were uncertain. - No deposit required; the contract simply provided a penalty payment if we cancelled too soon. - Andrew's initial estimate. - Price. The cost ended up being just under the not-to-exceed estimate. - Crews arrived and departed when they said they would. CONS - The packing crew: -- We knew we had a lot of *stuff*, and it was disorganized. We had been ill prior to the packout, too, so when the crew arrived, I told them "Pack everything; I'll sort it on the other end". The amount of stuff they left as trash was dismaying. -- Even worse was "Andrew, don't forget to have them take that Turkish carpet" and getting a "Don't worry; we got it" and then having to pack it into our UHaul because they forgot it. And "Andrew, there are a lot of plugstrips left throughout the house; they should all be packed" and then going through and boxing all the plugstrips myself. -- MANY items my husband said "What about that?" and the crew said "Your wife said to leave it here" when that was NOT in fact the case. I had not said so, and they had not asked. -- Communication was SADLY lacking, and not enough of the crew understood English - they kept referring to someone else. -- Boxes were marked oddly, and items that were nowhere near each other in the house ended up in boxes marked for a third place. -- Some of my valuable Limoges china was packed in regular boxes, not dish boxes, and not marked. I'm still finding pieces; fortunately, it doesn't appear anything is broken. In short, if I had to base my review solely on the crew in my house for 2 days in Virginia, I'd have given 1 star at best. Price, timeliness, the office staff, the driver, and the unpacking crew raised my review.

Where do I begin? Please do your research before using Craig Van Lines. We used them 10 years ago to move us to North Carolina and we were very happy with the services they provided. When we made the decision to move back to Northern Virginia, we contacted them. To say our experience was NOT GOOD would be an understatement. They did not send down enough people to do our packing or the actual loading. As they reached the deadline to be done, they rushed and believe me, the packing proved it. We had ANTIQUE items broken beyond repair as well as LOTS of other items broken from lack of packing materials used. Several of our clothes packed from closets into wardrobe boxes were thrown into the bottom of the boxes. And, one whole side of a closet of clothes (7’ deep) was lost in the move and NEVER FOUND!Our truck of items was placed in storage for 8 months upon arrival in Northern Virginia. (Paid for this storage time). When delivery day arrived raccoon babies were found in one of a pack-filled unit. All the damage done to our items (and believe me, it was a lot - items were chewed up and urinated on) was NOT covered under the moving insurance. That unit was basically closed up and returned to the moving company.Following our move, the office staff as well as Craig was unresponsive and would not return our phone calls. We NEVER received a call back from Craig, the owner!Based on our experience, I would recommend you continue searching for a good mover.
