About Cliffview campground - New River Trail State Park
Cliffview Campground at New River Trail State Park is a well-maintained primitive campground with a nice, clean setting. It is nestled between Chestnut Creek and the New River Trail, providing a pleasant natural atmosphere with the sounds of the creek and birds. The campground features large, flat tent pads, with each site equipped with a firepit with a cooking grate, a picnic table, wooden hammock posts, and a metal gear hanger. Firewood is available for purchase. The location is excellent for a bike trip, with easy access to the trail for riding into nearby towns, and is also a good place to fish and relax. Amenities include a pit toilet, described as clean but no-frills, a water spigot, and a central bear-proof trash can. A notable feature is that the parking lot is several hundred feet away, requiring campers to carry in their gear as there is no vehicle access. While generally peaceful, some late-night noise from the parking lot has been noted. The campground also offers handicap and horse campsites.

Nice place, all camping areas are nice and clean, restrooms aren't the cleanest but better than the woods. Staff could be a little more helpful.

Great place to get a little exercise in, relax by the creek, or have a picnic. Easy access to the New River Trail.

This campground has a nice setting. The creek and proximity to the trail is nice. Only downside was late night activity in the parking lot that kept me up.
