I would not recommend staying here. My room smelled BAD (like mold) and was not super clean. I found an old french fry in the desk seat. Service and breakfast were pretty good. Cleanliness was poor and the room just felt gross, smell did not help.

Enjoyed the breakfast. Served hot and the staff kept everything clean. The hot tub was a good temp, the pool was a bit cold for me but ok and the Jacuzzi in the room is for 1 with good jets. The shower was hot with an overhead sprayer. Comfortable bed. It met my needs for a weekend escape.

The rooms were updated.... about 15 years ago or more and not super well done or maintained. There was water damage on the walls and floors.
The staff were nice. The breakfast was okay.
My big problem was the pool. It was cloudy. I don't know what causes that, but I know it's not good. The hot tub was cloudy and tinted kind of a gray brown color.

If I could give ZERO stars I would we arrived and our room was the only one left. After a long day of traveling from FL all we wanted was rest. The room was dirty and reaked of mildew. The lobby and counters were dirty. The bathroom toilet looked like someone had just used it after a Taco Bell marathon and had their dog sitting their next to them and left wads of dog hair on the floor. Shower was not clean. Went down immediately to talk to front desk only to be met with no other room option and being told housekeeping had left already. After repeated requests to get the mgr involved she said, I guess I can go clean it for you, manager probably wouldn't approve a refund. WHAT???!?!?!?! DISGUSTING. horrible service for an outdated dirty hotel. No laundry as advertised on Expedia. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER BOOKING HERE. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE WHERE IT WILL BE VALUED.

Didn't have the pull out bed made; did not have any extra pillows or blankets available. One kid will be sleeping with a sheet. Was disappointed that I had to be housekeeper at 11pm at night after a full day at the theme park. Remote down button didn't work on the living room TV but that didn't factor into the review. The counter people were very very nice!

The EV charging and large two-bedroom suites brought us here, but the building is in need of maintenance, and I agree with other reviewers about the smell in the rooms.

Not sure how this has 4 stars.
This could be a 4+ star hotel if it wasn't for the lack of cleanliness, poor wifi, and TV signals. Though the staff was accommodating, if the hotel was kept up, it would be much better. I saw another reviewer state the same as our experience. I knew from walking the halls that it wasnt going to be good. The floors were so dirty and werent vaccumed. We had to change rooms due to dirty bathrooms. (Urine, hair, and feces on and in the toilet. The sides of the toilets were dirty, the underbowl was black, and dirty floors, which i cleaned with dishsoap and a wet washcloth. The bathroom reeked of urine.) The smell was a mildew/urine smell throughout the room, dirty sheets that looked as if feces were on it, stained walls with either food or liquid splashed on it. The TV's signal kept going out during our stay. And not that it was the hotel's fault, but you attract certain clients. As I approached the elevator, a guy came out of the room in front of me and let out a loud fart while waiting for the elevator to arrive. The next morning at 7am there were two kids playing soccer in the hall! AT 7am! I've never experienced that with any hotel that is around the US. Please take our feedback and start with the easiest thing, which is the cleaning. Also, I'm not just someone who doesn't know how companies look at P&Ls to find out where to trim costs. (Usually cutting back on staff) That's a part of my job. This feedback is for the owner, not the staff. Don't cut costs on making people feel comfortable and at home. That makes people come back and tell friends and family.

Oh my gosh...a total difference from the last hotel I stayed at. I was a bit nervous because it has been about 6 years since our last stay here. I wasn't sure if it would be the same as we experienced. But it was like the hotel hadn't missed a beat.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite...very clean, spacious, beds are so comfortable,
privacy with doors on both rooms, the bathrooms are in each room, full sized fridge, and kitchenette...I am definitely staying in this room the next time we visit!
Friendly staff. No issues. Breakfast was delicious, all kept warm, nothing was cold except what was supposed to be cold. It was just a pleasant experience all around. The Country Inn and Suites in Williamsburg should take lessons from you!
Thank you for taking care of your guests!

Oh my goodness, this was such a fantastic hotel. The beds were super comfortable, the rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. It's proximity to local theme parks only added to the convenience. I would absolutely stay here again.

We recently stayed at the Comfort Suites in Glen Allen, Virginia during the Big Shots tournament weekend, and while the location served its purpose due to limited availability, the overall experience was disappointing and left much to be desired.
Upon entering the room, there was an immediate and unpleasant mildew smell that lingered throughout the room making the space feel far from fresh or welcoming. The housekeeping staff did come in and spray disinfectant and mopped the floor to no avail because the scent came back. It was clear that the room had not been thoroughly cleaned or aired out prior to our arrival. The cleanliness standards were noticeably lacking—especially in the bathroom, which appeared neglected. There were visible signs of mildew around the tub and tiles, and the shower head itself was in particularly poor condition, with a grimy buildup that made it feel unsanitary and unfit for use. These maintenance and hygiene issues gave the impression that this property is overdue for a deep cleaning and renovation.
The bathroom’s appearance and condition were honestly unacceptable for a hotel operating under a reputable brand like Comfort Suites. Fixtures were aged and the overall atmosphere was more in line with a budget motel than what one would expect from a mid-range chain.
That said, there were a couple of positive aspects. The check-in process was efficient, with friendly front desk staff who got us into our room quickly, which was appreciated after a long day of tournament games. Additionally, the room itself was quite spacious, offering plenty of room to move around—something that can be a plus when traveling with family.
Ultimately, this location was the only option available due to nearby hotels being sold out for the tournament, but it wouldn’t be my first choice again unless significant updates and improvements are made. Comfort Suites has the potential to offer a comfortable and reliable experience, but this particular property is not living up to the brand’s usual standard.

Being here a few times, I am a blue collar job worker and for me breakfast very important, 6 am perfect breakfast, they always have double meat choice ( sausages and patties) lady that serves breakfast always checking if there is enough of everything on the food side and replenish it before it’s gone, she’s always smiling and act very professional , new furniture rooms are clean and don’t smell, definitely best comfort suites hotel!!!

We've stayed twice at this hotel when seeing family in Richmond. The rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfast is good and the front desk staff is pleasant and efficient. Our grandson loves swimming in the indoor pool. A nice experience all around. We'l be back.
