“I had a great time shopping there! I didn’t spend too much in there but that is because I found what I needed quickly I appreciate their speedy service too and everything was priced cheap too”
“Bret has always been super friendly and helpful. He has done a few repairs and has been very generous with his time and advice. I am also looking into getting some work done on a ring that is a bit complicated, he is willing to go the extra mile to try to find a solution that will work.”
“The folks running this genuinely want people to get outside and have a great time- and they're very kind. There is a great selection of gear to check out- and I've had great experiences consigning here too.”
“I was over for the day from Charlottesville and I was able to squeeze in a visit to Fit For A Queen and I'm glad I did! I appreciated the bright and beautiful space with well curated racks of clothing. I was greeted warmly by the staff member working that day and she kindly started a dressing room for me as I continued to browse. The dressing rooms are spacious with a sturdy seat, full length mirrors, and three hooks to separate your items into Yes/Maybe/No as you try on. It really felt like a boutique experience!
I thought the prices were fair for the quality/condition of the items, and I lucked out to find three items that were at their lowest price point that were also 30% off on top of that!”
“I write very few reviews, but this store is absolutely incredible. The owner, Don, has curated an incredible collection of vintage glassware, crystal, china, pottery - essentially any items in these categories you can imagine from different countries and different periods, organized by color and design. Even if you're not in the market for glassware, china, pottery, the store takes you through history and is a quasi museum. If you're lucky, Don might give you a personal tour of all four of his stores (don't miss the other two just to the right of the main store entrance!) I've purchased vintage items including an English bone china set, apothecary jars, a crystal vase, champagne coups, cornbread skillet... All at reasonable prices. If you are within a two or three hour radius (talking to you, NOVA) it is without question worth the drive and a fun day trip. You can easily spend 2-3 hours here. Do not miss this gem.”
“Such a neat store to walk through and look at all the different things. Huge selection of all sorts of things, some modern, some vintage, and some antique. Some of the prices are fantastic, but some of the prices are a little steep. However, it is still a great place to go walk around and look, especially if you have time to kill.”
“Classy for sure! No trash, all eclectic pieces and useful purchases. Need a screen door, 60's retro couch, desk and chair from the 70's and a surprise around every corner! All really cool ? items. Got to see, to believe!!”
“what a wonderful store!! I went in looking for a wedding guest outfit with a 30s theme and Effie could not be more helpful. The pieces are so thoughtfully curated, and even though she didn’t have a super specific 30s dress in my size, she spent the better part of an hour picking out items that could work. We ended up going with a “90s does 30s” slip dress look with 30s style accessories. It was so fun, and I didn’t feel pressured to purchase anything (even though I did buy it all haha). In a sea of vintage stores that don’t actually sell true vintage, Halcyon is a real vintage gem.”
“Modern 804 is an experience of the Mid Century Modern Style …That is a way of life…..sleek with clean lines and tapered geometric forms…and rounded organic edges. That focused on Functionality with the art bringing chaos! When people come into the store I hear so many people saying “oh my mom had that or my Dad had that.. it brings back memories of their past life ! And because of that they search the store for the right table or credenza or painting that will embellish their home. To continue the movement in that Interior Design Style..But don’t forget the Vintage Clothing and Jewelry…WOW Modern 804 is a destination! Don’t miss it!”
“Very well curated collection. Interesting selection of lighting and furniture. Lots of teak. Must see if you love MCM. I'm an Eastlake girl but many of their wares caught my eye. Good rugs at fair prices. Will be back for a special lamp (fingers crossed someone else doesn't pick it before I do!)”
“I just left the kid to kid store right by short pump mall. I was there getting some outfits for my grandkids, I'm not use to doing that, I perfer Amazon links or giving money and the parents do the shopping, I started to get overwhelmed and the WONDERFUL STAFF guided me through the sizing and helped me pick out cool stuff.
I am definitely a customer for life. I wish I got their names they deserve a RAISE!!”
“Small but mighty. I adore this shop! I love design, especially mixing old and new and Sheppard street is my favorite shop in Richmond. Quality treasures at reasonable prices. I just love this place!”
“Such a cute little shop! The owner was absolutely the sweetest, brought clothes up for my son to try on that hadn’t hit the racks yet. She was so kind to my son and I, making the experience more personal. Would definitely visit again!”

Used Vintage And Consignment
“Having shopped here previously when I lived nearby, I finally consigned a few items. I am most pleased in every regard and have already made a winter appointment as I have unique furs to consign. The staff is amazing! Items are displayed and showcased, just fabulous. I bought a vintage fur accessory too.”
“My favorite place to sell and buy clothes ! Make sure you don’t miss your apt! They send it quickly over to you too! (Through paypal just make sure to double check your emails)
I love buying from them too ! I bought a new bag and some cute accessories too ?
Update : I recently went to atleast a 5-6 different stores that buy clothes from you. Ashby was the best place I went to. Their staff, their selection, and even being organized in buying. I genuinely love this store ! Please give them lots of love guys ?this is just a girly girl ?? sharing some love to one of her favorite places ?”
“Not a thrift shop like I expected. I think there was some used clothing in the back, but most of the stuff in front seems to be new with a vintage look. Surprised that they had some really nice men's clothing and accessories, great for gifts.”
“Went to this little shop to browse and fell in love with some of the unique furniture pieces. There was a wide selection of woodwork products and a few smaller selections of clay handmade jewelry and hand poured candles. Would have loved to see a little more variety and a few pieces priced a little lower but overall was a nice shop!”
“This place is a gem and a wonderful addition to the Addison lineup.
They have a wonderful curated selection that is gender and size inclusive.
The prices are approachable.
The customer service was so so friendly and honest.
I left with an armful of goodies and a happy heart.”
“This place is really well curated. I’ve been to few shops in the south with this level of consistency in quality and beauty. The ones I recently visited in Charleston at this level were significantly more expensive. Of course that’s Charleston money, but the point is that most of these types of places are either junky or 1%’er money.
Walking through was a breath of fresh air.
The owner and the other staff member I met were very friendly and conversational as well.”
“I just popped in to check this place out and gasped in awe at the first vintage pair of shorts I saw (they were cross stitched!).This place is gorgeous, filled with sunlight and meticulously chosen fashion. I’ll be back!”
“Very cool place! I came for a specific item, and had to force myself not too look at all the other cool stuff I wasn't there for. So many amazing looking vintage pieces of furniture and art. The owner was super nice and had very friendly vibes.”
“One of the best antique stores I've had the pleasure to rummage through. Owner is friendly and helpful. Randomly, an excellent selection of vintage flannel. The place had a nice old-school antique store feel; like you could actually discover something great underneath a dusty pile of papers in a drawer. So much better than the carefully curated places a lot of stores are these days.”
“I’ve followed Gilbert for a long time as a skateboarder. I’ve always wanted to visit him and his mom’s store and finally got the chance to! My partner and I stopped through on a road trip and she bought me a cee blues sweat shirt and she got a really cool old print of a hawk. The sweat shirt is very nice quality and thick material. Gilbert’s mom was super nice and helpful. The store is thoughtfully laid out with a ton of great vintage finds as well as new custom stuff from Gilbert. 10/10!!”
“Awesome store. So many one of a kind pieces. Bought a cute small patio table and to rattan wicker chairs with cushions. Very reasonable prices and great service.”
“This is my absolute favorite consignment shop in Richmond. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The selection of clothes is incredible. I have purchased clothes with them as well as consign clothes. It has always been an exceptional experience.”
“Clementine always has such a good selection and really reasonable prices! But even more — great customer service! I couldn’t stop thinking about a bag I saw that was in great condition and was such a good price for the value and brand, so when I called they took my order over the phone and sent it right away. I ordered it on Christmas Eve and it came before New Year’s Eve! Plus, they didn’t even charge me for shipping. I will be back next time I’m in Richmond!”
“Love, love, love this place!
Always clean and organized in there. Everyone who we've ever interacted with, are always so friendly. Prices are on spot!!! 😁 I would give 6 stars but Google only has 5.”
“I love this store and come here often! Absolutely do not understand the 1 star reviews, but I've never had a bad experience here and I've been shopping/selling for 4 years. It's not a traditional thrift store so expect to pay ~$10 for a shirt, but it is a curated shopping experience. You can save money by selling some of your clothes you don't wear anymore. The employees are always nice and helpful.”
“I love the clothes here, I don’t go often but when I do, I almost always find something of quality. Most recently I got this 100% vintage silk blouse for $3, for a few light stains that were easily removed at the dry cleaner, and Ralph Lauren velvet cargo pants.”
“Awesome place to find discount clothing that’s in style! A lot of the items still have tags on them. Amazing selection! You don’t have to take my word for it, come and see for yourself!!!”
