Don’t bother coming here if you are from out of state. They don’t care to help you point blank!

We have now visited 3 times with a new pup and seen 3 vets. This was by design. You can request a particular vet and are asked if you have a preference upon arrival. Our philosophy is to get to know the staff so that if an emergency occurs, you are not blindsided. All are wonderful, and take the time to understand you and your pet. This is the only facility I'm aware of with separate cat and dog waiting rooms. They also meet with you and then take your pet to another area for the exam. This means your pet is not associating you with what things happen. Now, ask yourself this; if the layman has picked up on these impressive practices, what other modern process adaptations have also been made. Yes, my wife and I are now fans!

Dr Kathryn is so caring, compassionate, and understanding. My beagle suddenly went into kidney failure last month and she took the greatest care of her for 3 days while we tried to save her. Unfortunately we had to make the decision to euthanize her. Today my other dog who is 14 was suffering and on the brink of death and Dr Kathryn was with us again for him and I couldn't have asked for a better Dr in such a heartbreaking moment. Thank you for showing our dogs so much love in their final moments.

If a different vet requests records from Gloucester Veterinary Hospital they will refuse to provide service to you in the future. Even taking your pet elsewhere once will result in this place refusing service. The secretaries do not like sending records so as punishment they will not help you in the future.

I am retired military and just moved back to this area. I needed to find a Vet in this area for my dogs Ragnar and Raya which are both Rottweilers. I called and they told me they do not do appointments and they were a walk in clinic only. I show up at 0720 plenty early enough before they open. I was the first one in the parking lot. I walked in and checked in and let them know I was here. I walked to my car and 3 more cars showed up and they all were taken in before me. When the person in the last car was about to be brought in I let her know I was the first person here and she told me she scheduled this person at 8 because the dog gets anxious. I guess I am kinda confused. It’s currently it’s 0855 and I am still sitting and waiting. If you are new to the area and not a current client I would find another Vet in the area. This is unreal. Oh by the way my dogs get anxious as well.

When a veterinary organization advertises emergency services and then turns away a dying dog, they don’t deserve to have customers. Our baby was in dire distress today and after being turned away by Gloucester Veterinary Hospital, he subsequently flatlined after being resuscitated 3 times. My problem is with my baby being turned away by this unprofessional organization that espouses loving care for animals. My 12 year old Maltese didn’t deserve that kind of treatment. If you don’t take emergency cases, don’t friggin advertise you do.The Animal Clinic of Gloucester is where animal lovers should take their pets because they went way beyond the norm to attempt to save our beloved pet.

My rating for this place just went from 5 stars down to one. We've been bringing our dogs here for nearly 15 years, and today, we had an emergency. Our dog digested some serious poison, and my wife rushed her immediately to Gloucester veterinarian hospital. They refused to see her. My wife explained to them what was happening, but they did not seem to care and refused service to our dog. She immediately ran her down to the next veterinary clinic, where they gladly accepted and cared for her. Will never step foot in Gloucester Veterinary Hospital again. You people are heartless.

Been taking animal here for years. Been having to come for shots. Instead of giving two at one time. I've been having to bring sick animal twice in two weeks so I guess they can charge for two separate visitsHow sorry.

I am saddened to hear that my father was turned away yesterday when he got to the vets office prior to closing with his dying dog. His dog had been hit by a car and while employees stood by who could have helped...no one did. The employees of this office said they could not help because they were closing and told my father to go to other clinics. The dog passed away on the transport to another veterinarian clinic. While the dog may not have been able to be saved that poor animal was left to suffer another 45 minutes because employees did not have it in their hearts to stay late a few minutes. Our dogs are more than just pets, they are family members and this lack of remorse or care for a dying animal is appalling. My father was also left to watch his dog suffer because this animal clinic failed to offer any empathy.
