I can not recommend Oyster Cove Boatworks and Yacht Brokerage after my experience purchasing a brokerage boat through them. I initially contacted them in November of 2024 about a boat they had listed. I did eventually purchase the boat in February 2025 as it was what I was looking for, but the entire purchase process was extremely challenging and filled with inconsistencies, half-truths and out-right lies. During the entire purchase process, I had done everything I could do to ensure a smooth, uneventful purchase, acting in good faith and performing all the due diligence I could to prevent surprises. This was not my first long distance purchase! I believe Oyster Cove Boatworks acted in bad faith, with dishonest intentions and in fact, deliberate misrepresentation, and manipulation of the facts. I reached out to the Oyster Cove Owner/President Chris Leigh and my Salesperson Laurence Ritter after the sale was finalized in regards to several concerns that I had. Over the course of 8 weeks and 8 emails, they never responded once. I think it goes to show what kind of business Chris runs when he does not have any interest in resolving a customer's concerns. I would steer clear of Oyster Cove and find a dealership that truly cares about its customers and holds itself to the highest standards of ethics and integrity. Oyster Cove, can you say you hold yourself to these key principles and values? Honesty, Fairness, Respect, Responsibility, Transparency

If you are considering getting a boat, stop in and talk to Jonathan. Jonathan was great and answered a lot of questions and concerns for us as inexperienced boat owners. He took the time to show us any boat we wanted to look at or even thought about looking at. Everyone was very friendly and treated us great. I am looking forward to my next trip in to order a new boat.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Brad Herndon a broker at Oyster Cove and was very impressed with his professionalism and all around knowledge of the industry. If you need a REAL broker for any reason I would trust Brad to get the job done. He is truly a good guy, a rare commodity in today’s world.

I have brought my boat in for winterization for the past 3 years.Last year I don't think they actually did the full service. In April when I took the boat out I started having fuel related problems. Issues pointed to the VST filter. They quoted me 1200 to repair because it was an 8 hour job. I spoke with another Mechanic and he fixed it in 2 hours for 250 plus parts. His comment was the I needed to stabilize the fuel when I winterize. I just winterized for this year. I put 40 hours on the engine. My mechanic doesn't think they replaced the oil last year. He thinks they just spun a new filter on and charged me for full service.Lesson is you can't trust anyone and if you do trust you still need to verify .

I did a repower to my 1988 Mako in 2018, service was on point, communication was consistent and they did an A+ job all the way around, even took care of a few proactive items that I wouldn't have noticed. Years later, I had an exhaust corrosion issue and they went to bat for me to get Yamaha warranty to take care of the problem. I'm glad I am working with a family business, they treated me like I was part of theirs.

They are irresponsible. They sell boats that are unsafe. My wife was literally blown off the boat after filling it with gas. Didn't even have a chance for a maiden voyage. Never even reached out & still in business. Buyer beware

I recently purchased a new Sea Hunt from Oyster Cove. The boat is awesome and I would highly recommend Sea Hunt, Yamaha and especially Oyster Cove. Jonathan Brown's knowledge of the boat and his assistance from purchase to delivery of the boat was second to none. The entire crew at Oyster Cove have been friendly and provided great service. Great job Jonathan and the Oyster Cove team.

As far as sales go Jonathan and Laurence sold my boat quickly and at a price I thought was fair for both parties. It was a smooth transaction and my boat was sold within about a week of me listing it with them-straight forward percentage of sale price deal.On the service and parts end of things Scott and Keith have been good to deal with. I usually do as much of the maintenance as I can myself and took my boat in for service here once. They have Mercury and Yamaha parts in stock and for the most part have had what I need when I need it - I have had to order a part or two online that they didn’t have in stock and was on backorder.* will update if I have any positive or negative feedback in the future.
