They have things that can be hard to find.....in my case whole wheat,good seed selection for the garden, bagged mushroom compost.

Most definitely the best garden and feed store around. When I need to get supplies it is my go to spot. I like seeing my dude scott thats drives the truck he is very helpful and funny, joe is a very cool employee as well. Overall 10 outta 10.

Great feed and garden store. Lots of hay & straw , livestock and domestic animal feed, fence gates, feeders, poles, water troughs, garden seed, grass seed, chicks in spring, bird products, etc..... plus very experienced staff. Bring a yard sample and they can test what's needed to make it better. Plenty of parking. They deliver feed if your buying for large farms...

Nice folks,knowledgeable, caring and fun. Kinda like visiting with your cousins. Used to live in Henrico and always went to the one on broad St.
Went get a propane tank filled, and ant killer and bug spray for the yard. Saving up for a sthil pole saw. I'll buy it there. Gonna cut back shopping at home Depot and buy local for the things s/s carries, reminds me..how much are those railroad ties stocked up out back????

Been doing business with Southern States since my parents built their home in Gloucester. Purchased their professional Shade Park seed, time release 18-8-8 fertilizer and time release lime to reseed the parents home place. Last time I did this was when we planted the first yard in 1981 using seed and supplies from Southern States. Photos attached.
