The Gore post office and the people who work there are great. I found them friendly and helpful. Five stars to them.
The US Postal Service, not so much. In my area Amazon now ships many of my things via USPS, not UPS. That means where UPS used to drop it off. The Postal Service now leaves a message in my box saying my package won't fit in my mailbox. Please pick it up at the post office, the next day. That adds 1-2 days, and a 15 mile round trip to any package larger than a breadbox..

A nice quiet post office. Great post master who is helpful and knowledgeable about the postal system. Lots of PO Box sizes to choose from if you need one. Large parking lot right off of route 50.

Located in Gore, VA, this post office opens at 9:30am M-F and 9am on Saturday. Closed on Sunday. During the week it is closed from 12:30pm-1:30pm so be mindful of that. Friendly staff, clean facility, plenty of parking. This is the last USPS location in Frederick County (and Virginia) heading west on Northwestern Turnpike (Rt.50) until you get to West Virginia. The other closest USPS locations are in Cross Junction, High View, Capon Bridge, and Bloomery.
