Grayhaven Winery is one of the oldest estate vineyards and wineries in Virginia, known for its signature wines such as Pinotage, Trekker, and Rivercrest, along with a wide selection of imported South African wines available both at the winery and online. The winery offers a rustic and welcoming atmosphere, with a cozy tasting room that was once a barn, now renovated to provide a comfortable space to enjoy wine. Visitors can experience tastings at private tables on decks, lawns, or in a converted 1940's barn called the Batteau. The grounds are beautiful, featuring koi ponds, horse pastures, and vineyards, creating a natural setting that enhances the experience. The winery hosts cultural events like the South African Food & Wine Festival and is renowned for its artisan cheese and charcuterie boards, which are plentiful and highly recommended. The staff and owners are friendly, passionate, and eager to share the story behind the wines. Visitors appreciate the excellent service, delicious wines, especially the sangria and South African varieties, and the dog-friendly environment. Many return for the great environment, good food, and memorable wines.
Great experience. Deon , the owner, is a great person to talk with. The cheese board was great and the Limeade is out of this world. Would definitely go back again.

Amazing semi-hidden gem with an unmatched wine selection and welcoming atmosphere. Horses greeting you while you sit outdoors and enjoy a glass or tasting. The hosts Deon and Max were warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend, a short drive from Richmond.

Wonderful selection of South African wines and local wines. Great host, has a lot of knowledge of using South African grapes grown in Virginia to produce his own wines.
