What a sad, sad shell of what it used to be many years ago. So many empty stores. Kind of like most of Hampton. Shame on the local government for how it has allowed Hampton to not live up to its potential. It could be such a special place, but it's certainly not.

Most stores have left but the McDonald's, Burger king, Dairy Queen and Harris Teeter are keeping this small shopping center viable. The parking lot and roadway is designed for small cars and can be confusing enough to curb your wheels in some locations so drive carefully.

This shopping center SMH is still raggedy and lacking stores and businesses. There are empty delapitated buildings. Im NOT understanding why the City of Hampton has not done something about it. Many of these buildings have been vacant for close to 20 years! There are the Mainstays: public library, a grocery store chain right now it's Harris Teeter, Burger King and a McDonald's. The shopping center is in the midst of an upper middle class neighborhood so I'm not understanding why the shopping center looks the way it does.
