Honestly, besides an couple of negatives,I had an life changing , trailblazing experience that I truly enjoyed ,cream of the crop of homeless & re-entering individuals that are in sensitive states.

I was very pleased with the help of the Salvation Army shelter worker gave me because even if it was past 12 midnight they were still pleased to help me with some of the rules and regulations and how to get to people who are homeless in to the shelter. So many people underestimate this shelter in Harrisonburg but I believe it is just because of rumor or assumption but not by known facts.

I have never had to deal with with This Wonderful Crisis Center. I took my Girlfriend up the other day to see if they would Help her. It is Sad to see someone you know, owe $800 on their Electric Bill for 2 months. My Eyes were Amazed to see a Cut-off notice \\u0026 to see Tears of Gladness when The Salvation Army said \\\"Yes we will Help You!\\\" It means a whole lot to someone who is down with Cancer to Get Some Help. GOD Bless The Salvation Army. ?

Do not be deceived. For a company that is made to help people, they are extremely rude. My mom and I went there, because we were living in our car. When I first found out about them, I called there to get in and I was told as long as I worked they could reserve a bed. I talked to a lady named Amy and she said all those things and that she would pass it on to the next shift so we could do our intake and paperwork to get a bed. So we did all the neccesary things to get in and called back. A woman answered the phone who was apart of administration who was very rude told me that we would have to do everything all over again, and even if we did they didnt have beds, when I was just told they did. We ended up coming back and trying again in spite of the bad vibes we got off of them and we got beds. Due to our situation we stayed overnight and left in the morning. We told them we had to go out of town and we would come back, but we ran into problems and we ended up stranded and we didnt go out if town. We called them to let them know and even left a message on the voicemail. Nobody got back with us. We called the next morning and they got the Captain involved to kick us out for no reason at all. Then they lied and said we never stayed there and we left early. As cold as it is outside, how heartless could you possibly be to push to have innocent people kicked out of a shelter? When I called to get the story straight, the lady who answered the phone yelled at me like I was a child and hung up in my face upon me explaining to her what had happened. They didn't even give us a chance to explain and had they checked their voicemail, they would have known. I dont reccommend them to no one. You're better off at a church or somewhere else that actually cares about people's situation. They do not care about people and they also gossip about people's business to different residents. I gave it one star for Amy, because she did all she could for us and they threw her under the bus too. DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE! There are better resources you can use!
