This is my favorite place to rent cars from. I've always been able to reserve a compact at a reasonably affordable price. They've upgraded me to a crossover several times when they haven't had enough compacts from corporate, which has always worked out well for me. Martha is friendly and helpful. I'm happy coming here and I'll continue to prefer this location over other options on the area.

I have rented a lot of cars here and service is great!! Always the same lady working the front so it feels more local. Good selection of cars.

Charging extra total 101 per day.. please check everyone before taking rent car. Because she said 55 per day when I was renter it's 101 ..

I've been using this location for most of my rentals for the past fifteen years at least, for probably 40+ rentals, and they have always been excellent.
Customer service is fantastic, and I am perpetually amazed by the quality and cleanliness of the cars I am rented. I don't know if they have a special in with dealerships or corporate to get very nice and new cars, but they are awesome, and I experience the latest tech for the first time in these rentals.
I considered switching to the rental company mandated by my employer, but I can't do it, especially after comparing the ratings and reviews of those other guys and given my history of wonderful experiences with Avis in Herndon.
This location is amazing and managed very well. So appreciate them and the many cathartic trips by car made possible by the excellent service and selection provided by Martha and her team.

Extremely bad service. Booked a rental and had confirmation too but the next day received call that cars are not available. As suggested spoke to customer support where they have confirmed that cars are available at the location and advised to drive down to location and check at the location. Agent confirmed that cars are not available and asked to reach out customer care again. Had to wait for lines to be connected for support too. Overall, not worth of time here.

Very rude person - customer service includes talking with people on the phone and listening to what they need before being cut off in mid-sentence.

Update: BE VERY AWARE. CREDIT CARD WAS COMPROMISED HERE. Right after paying, my card has been used fraudulently on multiple occasions. Had to close account and get new card.
STAY AWAY STAY AWAY from this AVIS!!
Nice staff however, prepaid with Apple Pay and it was disaster. Staff couldn’t find payment, could not take another form. Then after voicing my displeasure was the staff magically able to fix the situation. Shortly after this, my Apple Pay card was hacked. So be careful here. Literally minutes after leaving I got emails my apple account was hacked and fraud orders were being placed. This was only place I used that card. The car rental was fine otherwise

I have been renting cars from this location for over 10years and Ms. Marta has been very good to me and my family, we travel a lot for baseball and family road trips and she always knows what our needs are… Great location and friendly staff. It’s not her fault that Avis when supplying her cars don’t always come thru w/ the best cars but she and her staff always find a way to make it right/workout….

Avis has called to remind us of our reservation multiple times. Then on the day of, the location calls to say they don’t have any minivans. They said they would call to see if the airport has one. Turns out they said they did and they were going to bring it to the Herndon location and call us when it’s ready. No call. When we finally decided to check to see what was going on and THEY WERE CLOSED. So we go to the airport location. They have been no help as well. We are so disappointed in the customer service and the fact that our reservation meant nothing.

Staff is always helpful and easy location to access. Sometimes they are limited on vehicles but have always had a very positive experience there.

Got a huge car that I didn’t want and paid more at an off airport location compared to airport location. At airport return gas reading was in Oreos t and charged.

I am an Amazon Area Rep and I have to rent a car every 28 days to perform my job duties. Avis is the preferred car rental and we have a corporate set up with Avis which includes express service. I dread the day I have to go into Avis to return my car to get a new one due to the fact that the cars are filthy inside and out. There is only 1 person working who has to do the rentals and clean the cars. It is so bad that I either have to wait for the car to be cleaned or do it myself. This last time, there were 4 other customers waiting and my car had not yet been cleaned. The employee did what he could but I ended up spending about 2 hours cleaning the interior which was absolutely gross with food in the cup holders. This is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. And to top it off, they always have to give me a vehicle that is not practical for my job stating that they have no other cars. I have made my concerns to my corporate management about this and recommend that we go back to Enterprise.

I purchased a one day rental thought Uber for less than $70 and neither Uber nor the employee at the pickup Avis store mentioned that since I was dropping the car off at another location I would be charged a $75 fee. That’s a ridiculous fee amount considering the fee is more than the actual rental and no one was transparent about it during the process!
