Tried to get a prescription filled using the online service. It told me 2 hrs, so I stopped by in 3 hrs, and they told me "they just received it" and told me it would be ready in an hr and a half. When I came back they then told me my insurance doesn't cover it. When I asked why they didn't tell me that when I was last here they gave me attitude. Very terrible customer service by most employees

I normally use a different pharmacy. My family member was being released from the Reston hospital and the doctor insisted we use a near by, to the hospital, pharmacy that would have these specifics post surgery meds filled for us by the afternoon when he was released. I called and checked if they were ready 45mins before my arrival (long drive) and it said two were ready and one was “in process”. Since no where takes longer than 30mins to process a prescription, I proceeded to the pharmacy. I get there 45mins later, two are ready and the third isn’t mentioned. So I tell them there should be 3, not two. Well, that one won’t be ready until after 3pm (another 2 hours). Why? …who knows! The man in the pharmacy couldn’t even tell me WHY it couldn’t be filled before two more hours. I asked for clarification 3 times on why it couldn’t be filled faster since his release is at 2pm…an hour away…no real answer. The only answer I got to “why” it wasn’t ready was “we have to process prescriptions one at a time”. If it takes your pharmacy 6 hours to process and fill 3 standard prescriptions, how are you still open? My family member has to sit in the car during a heat wave after being discharged from the hospital after major surgery…for an hour waiting…who knows why. I ask them to transfer the prescription to one of our local pharmacies…can’t.
Since it would take me longer to drive home, drive back to this pharmacy, and then drive back home again with his medicine than just waiting for it…and having another appointment to be at at 4pm which would nullify me even being able to do an extra 2hours of driving…I had no other choice but to make my family member sit in the car…
Upon returning to the window at 3:12….the medication was still not ready! A different male pharmacy staff member was working the window and was way more helpful, able to actually fill the prescription in around 10minutes. However, I will be informing the doctors to never suggest this pharmacy to anyone.
I will note that the female pharmacy staff member was friendly…apologetic…but didn’t seem to be in charge as she had to ask the man she was working with for specifics and he was utterly unhelpful. The second man, after 3pm was friendly and helpful though still had no idea why I was forced to wait 2 more hours and it still wasn’t ready! My son noted that, by the time we were being helped at the window and it wasn’t ready, it was 1:22pm and apparently the lunch break for the pharmacy was at 1:30…and he was walking out the pharmacy door talking about something “sucking”.

Just went in to try to buy some dog food. I had exact change for what I needed to buy and the cashier told me that they couldn't take cash. Kind of wish CVS stayed open later at this point.

I'm shocked by the 2 star rating. My rating is based primarily on the Pharmacy and what appears to be revolving door of Pharmacists. I have prescriptions that I get monthly as it can only be filled every 30 days. I've had this for several years and all prescriptions are submitted for 90 days by my doctor. Almost every month I have problems getting one or both filled, they get them mixed up and confused. The clerks who have been there get very short with yo. They say use the app, but when you rely on it, sometimes you do not hear anything, then you call and get processed. One example, today is the 3rd day when I check the app and it says your pharmacy is working on your prescription and that they have fallen behind. When I called yesterday the clerk was very short with me and said I will get a notification. They close in a couple of hours and I'm suppose to fly out tonight which I told them. This is a monthly prescription i get filled. There is know one to complain too. I'm looking to change but I fear I'll just run into the stuff somewhere else. I wish Walgreens management could examine because I appear to one of many who continue to experience many challenges with this location, primarily with the pharmacy.

I love this pharmacy! Nicole, Addison, and the pharmacy techs go above and beyond to make sure that my family and I have access to our prescriptions. This is one of the busiest pharmacies around, so I am always impressed by their efficiency and kindness.

The walgreens overall is pretty good. My only complaint is their horrid pharmacy. Whenever I get a prescription sent there, I have to constantly call and remind them and ask about the status of my prescription. One time, they told me that my prescription will be ready in 20 minutes. So I went to the pharmacy 20 minutes later and was told that my prescription isn't ready to be filled for another few days. The phone lines are always super busy and the staff that answer the phone are unbelievably slow; almost like it's all the staffs first day on the job. I would recommend going to My Dr's Pharmacy in the Herndon Centre right down the street near the panera bread. It is super fast and I've had a WAY better experience there than at this Walgreens.

I recently moved and don't have transportation, so I decided I should try making the Herndon Walgreens my preferred pharmacy for my prescriptions. I stopped in on a Wednesday evening to transfer my prescriptions and update my insurance. I had to stand in line for about 15 min. Two windows and the drive through were very busy. Once I got to the window, everything went smoothly and quickly. I hadn't intended to get my prescriptions then, since they were so busy. I was surprised when told they could be ready if I waited another 15 min. I agreed. 10 min later my scripts were ready and I left, a VERY HAPPY customer!! Thank you, Walgreens, for a tremendous customer experience!

Great place, caring people. Promptly took care of my mom's meds and were wonderful about it though it's a commonly stigmatized med. They're busy, but friendly.

I’m not sure why this location is getting low stars. I went there 3 times, 1 for a shot and twice to pick up prescriptions and everything was relatively quick and smooth, despite a relatively high volume of customer. No issues here.
