Cockerham Fuel Center #4 is a decent stopping place and a nice little find off I-77 in the Hillsville/Woodlawn area. It is fairly compact but clean and well spaced. The business is considered a hidden gem for its food. Reviews highlight a delicious Philly cheesesteak, flavorful fried chicken, excellent mashed potatoes and carrots, and the best macaroni salad and deviled eggs. A BLT made late at night was also called the best ever. The food customers appear to be local, which says a lot. However, the bathrooms are described as crusty, grimy, and poorly supplied. There is parking for truckers. While overall okay and a place customers will return to, some note there are better gas stations nearby and that the restaurant line could use streamlining for an exceptional experience.
I had to make a quick restroom stop on a trip and I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It was easy to get in and out of, it was very clean, and I stopped to shop because they had a fun selection of fidget type toys. There were also people seated enjoying some good looking food.

Had to stop here on a long road trip, and I’m so glad I did! It’s clean, easy to get in and out of, and well-stocked for highway snacks and fuel. Seeing the name on the sign was a great bonus, but the great service and convenient setup made it a perfect pit stop. Will definitely pull off here again!
