Back in Time. This first class resort has everything you need to unplug from your busy lifestyle. The service is outstanding and the amenities are plentiful. The Resort is going through a 300Million dollar restoration. So be aware that some things might not be available. I could not stop saying "It is so pretty" everywhere you go at the resort. The attention to detail and service is amazing. We will hopefully visit again.

Lots of good stuff for our family of 9 (6 adults, 3 kids): •Omni has completely revamped this old resort; it is once again a magnificent hotel; huge Omni investment •The food is great! Better than last year; big family dinner at Jefferson’s was just great; everyone was happy. Food at the pool was also excellent. Takeout food @ Martha’s Market has been completely redone for the better. •The water park remains the crown jewel for families. Our kids LOVED the place & we all had a great time there. Some bad stuff: •Woody’s is closed for renovation (except for takeout pizza). There is no place to go for a reasonably priced sit-down family meal. •Bring your wallet; everything is VERY expensive (no surprise) The disastrous: •The entire spa experience is just terrible, from scheduling to the actual spa experience. They will not call or email you to confirm appointments; most of the time they will not even answer the phone. My daughter checked in for her massage, but nobody ever showed up to take her back to the massage room. •The front desk & back office systems are just unacceptably bad. We got the “Bed & Breakfast Package”, but we got charged for breakfast anyway ($$$$); still haven’t gotten it straightened out. •Omni put “pending” charges on my AMEX that WAY exceed our legitimate charges, meaning that my AMEX is now near its limit. •Many/most of the front desk staff do not speak English, and I mean THEY DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH; forget about resolving any billing issue with them; they are totally clueless. •The Omni website is totally worthless; your reservation details are almost certainly wrong; and forget about talking to anyone on the phone. Overall, we had a great time. Omni has really spruced up this old resort, but Omni has so much more to do to make your stay an “exceptional experience” (their words).

My family and I went on vacation for the 4th of July. We left Pittsburgh and headed to Stonewall Resort in Roanoke WV. This place was pretty bad. The food wasn’t edible. The room’s filthy, moved to a different room, still dirty. We left a day early and headed to Omni Homestead as they said we could arrive a day early from our reservation. Walked inside and it’s a gorgeous building! Very friendly staff. We did have a small hiccup with our room. We arrived before it was ready so we were allowed to enjoy the beautiful pool and lazy river while we waited. My youngest (4years) was getting tired. So him and I walked the fairly long walk back Inside to get the room while my wife and oldest (10 years) stayed swimming. That’s when I met Zoe. She was very helpful through all of this. My first room had someone else’s luggage in it. So my son and I walked back down. Second room was a single king room, which with 4 people that wasn’t gonna work lol..I guess my wife had originally booked a single king since it was supposed to be a nice getaway for just us two. But the guilt set in and we brought the kids! So she called and switched it, but something got lost with that call and the reservation stayed a single king room… So Zoe not only found me my 3rd room, she made sure it was a Queen double and gave me an upgrade to a slightly larger room for my trouble and she was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Which went great. Food was very good. The breakfast buffet was so so, if it wasn’t for the omelette guy (Roderick Ottery I believe was his name) who saved the breakfast. He was a great, he interacted with my kids and showed them a few flare ups on the stovetop which they definitely enjoyed and he made a fantastic omelette. Just another very friendly staff member here and we hope to see him again. I would definitely recommend this place. The worst part was the 3 hour drive through back roads with no phone signal. But it was worth it. Thanks for the great couple days and we’ll be back!

The resort property is stunning: beautifully landscaped and maintained. The staff we met were universally exceptional. The activities were fantastic. Special thanks to Kenny and Brian for leading truly remarkable kayak and hiking tours through some of the most beautiful natural areas in Virginia. The food was a mixed bag: some excellent, some sub-par. But we discovered several good options out in the small town that is a short walk from the main hotel. We plan to return but will likely dine off-site more frequently.

While renovations can account for some disarray, there was little excuse for the situations we encountered, especially given the cost of the stay: had purchased a Spa Garden package and was not told until after check-in that the Spa Garden was closed (unrelated to renovations); only one restaurant open and it was prix fixe at $95 pp; steam pipes banged all night every night. When we asked for some credit, we were ignored for months and finally got a certificate for one night, subject to restrictions, expiring in a few months. We live thousands of miles away, so unable to return in this time period even if we wanted to do so - Omni didn't care.

June 2023. I just returned from a Girl’s Weekend at The Homestead and it was a wonderful trip. I have been there many times and love it more with each visit. We decided that the highlight of the trip was the History Tour with Anthony. He gave one a deep appreciation of the resort’s history and added interesting personal knowledge due to his family’s many decades of affiliation with the resort. We hope to take one of his tours again in the future. We met Robert, the GM and he too was friendly and even sent champagne to our table! Thank you Robert. A trip to The Homestead is always memorable, and the pianist on the Steinway in the Great Hall adds so much to the ambiance and charm. I wish I remembered his name, as he too chatted with us after playing. The food was outstanding, service impeccable, and the rooms were excellent!

I love this place. It’s great for families with a great mix of many activities, relaxation, nature and history. This is our second time here. I would not change a thing except the food. Jefferson’s is fine but there is little selection as far as cuisine choice. Also, be prepared to spend. This is a remote spot. Daily parking and upcharged items are common to spend on.

We loved our short weekend stay at the Omi Homestead resort! I really enjoyed the spa experience and experiential showers! The grounds and rooms are luxurious and so clean. The staff were all SO friendly as well. The hotsprings are something you don’t want to miss if you visit as well. Will be returning!

Husband and I wanted a restful, quiet weekend in a lovely hotel. We chose the Homestead. We upgraded to the $650/night king size room. After checking in, we had a 5 minute walk to our room on the back side of the hotel at ground level. The room had a porch overlooking a dumpster overflowing with construction materials and an area covered with mud. The old French doors barely closed or locked. The “veranda” outside our room hadn’t been swept and the air conditioning unit was so loud that we couldn’t talk when it roared on. The room was filled by the king sized bed. There were no extra outlets for phones, computers, etc. so we had to crawl under a desk and unplug a lamp to charge our devices. Because we were so far from the restaurants and there were no ice machines near by, we checked out the mini bar for drinks and snacks. It was empty. We wanted to swim laps in the indoor pool, were directed to it only to find it was closed and under construction. There’s lots under construction here. Several of the restaurants were closed for renovation. We ate all our meals at the hotel and nothing was memorable. However, the waitstaff was terrific. And our trip to the warm springs waters was relaxing and memorable. The hotel gave us one free night but didn’t give us a different room. We really wanted this to work and sadly, it didn’t.

Amazing! The hotel is in a beautiful mountain setting. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Brain was an awesome guide on our hike! Very entertaining! And completely knowledgeable about the local plant life. Chef Ottey created one of the best meals we ever had! And the wait staff was super friendly and met our every need! Only issue was with the renovation that's currently underway, making some amenities unavailable. It did not affect our overall experience one bit.

Decided to give this resort a try for 2 nights while me and my boyfriend were on our way to NC from VA during our trip to states, location is great and you can easily walk to the Main Street which had few bars with variety of food and drink options, they do provide transportation to the Main Street and some other attractions, shoutout to Anthony for an informative history tour and a shoutout to Sherry for taking care of us, we have already started planning to return after summer, thank you

The best part of the stay at The Omni Homestead Resort was the warmth and friendliness of the staff. The folks that there were a real joy to engage with. Sherry, the leader of the team, repeatedly went above and beyond to make our accommodations better and our stay easier.

From the hospitality to the service, at every turn we had an exceptional customer experience that started as soon as we made our reservations. Prior to arrival, our concierge reached out and helped us get times booked at the warm springs and offered multiple suggestions for dining and the spa. When we arrived, we were greeted by Dawson who warmly welcomed us, unloaded our truck and got us to check-in, letting us know our items would arrive to the room shortly. Following check-in we headed down to the warm springs for a relaxing soak. For dinner, we had reservations in the dining room where we had the most incredible waitress, Amber. The service was impeccable, the lobster bisque divine and the entire staff was so friendly. To end day one, we arrived to our well appointed room, had a lovely, quiet night of sleep and woke up rested and ready for day two! Day two arrived and we headed to the dining room for breakfast where we met the FABULOUS Fred, from Jamacia. Fred is a lover of food and a fabulously skilled chef, in chatting with him I mentioned that my husband loved J*** chicken and Fred immediately offered to talk to the head chef, and invited us to come back the next morning for their J*** chicken with ‘ahem’ sauce. We left breakfast, pleasantly full and headed to our spa day for an excellent couples massage, performed by Kayla and Ginnie and pedicures by Monica. After we were fully relaxed and enjoyed the amenities in the locker rooms we headed out to Serenity Gardens where we spent hours in the Hot Springs soaking pool while enjoying a light lunch from the Serenity Cafe. We wrapped our day at the spa, had a fantastic nap and headed to yet another spectacular dinner in the dining room. Following dinner, we headed out to enjoy the views and fire pits on the front porch where we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Corey, Ethan, Ben and Miguel, who hustle hard to welcome guests and keep the porch toasty. All of these gentleman were friendly, funny and genuinely amazing to interact with - huge shout out to that entire crew, way to nail guest services!! Day three, our last day, we headed back to the dining room for that J*** chicken we talked about in day two and to say that we were blow away is an understatement. Once again, we were warmly welcomed and sat in the stunning dining room where the FABULOUS Fred made an appearance, welcomed us back and went to let Chef Roderick know that we were ready for his authentic J*** chicken. All I can say is Chef Roderick KNOWS his way around the kitchen, we received a plate of the best, slow burn, j*** chicken we’ve ever had and the ‘ahem’ sauce was perfect! Every interaction we had was above and beyond, if you truly need to unplug and be pampered, The Omni Homestead is where you need to be. Thanks to the entire staff for making this a memorable experience. We’ll be back soon! Jen and Charlie

It's been almost 20 years since our last visit to The Homestead. We stayed here numerous times in the 80s and 90s and 00s. It is a special place as it is the US's Oldest Resort established in 1766. The Warming Springs building and pools 10 minutes up the road have recently completed renovation. You can float and enjoy the 95 degree healing mineral waters coming right out of ground. The hot springs on the property are now available to soak in as well adjacent to the spa. The spa is incredible. The most elaborate I've ever been to. There are 2 famous golf courses, more outdoor pools for families, putt putt, falconry, sporting clays and many other outdoor activities. The hotel itself is currently under renovation. The Great Hall lobby and Jefferson restaurant are undergoing renovation. There are also several floors undergoing renovation. They should work hard to get this done as quickly as possible because it is all an eyesore. But the staff is wonderful and helpful. Our room had been newly renovated and was fresh and comfortable. Great bed, Keurig, refrigerator, and bathroom.

Our time at the serenity spa was so wonderful. A special thanks to Sharon who made our day multiple times, and was an incredible ambassador. Best spa experience in years! Loved the mountain scenery and soothing warm springs. Thank you :)
