My husband and I got married at Avon Hill on June 29th, 2024. There are not enough words to describe Avon Hill!! The views are absolutely breathtaking. Lodging was convenient and CLEAN. It was great to spend the whole weekend with our loved ones to celebrate! Jocelyn was amazing to work with and the kindest person. She made the weekend effortless. I believe we got a better deal than if we rented a venue for a day. Avon Hill will always have a piece of our hearts!!

Avon Hill and Bruce’s Barn is an amazing venue, with amazing staff! The venue coordinator, Jocelyn, went above and beyond her contract duties. She made everyone feel welcome and answered any questions that popped up. It’s a wonderful feeling when someone truly cares about their job and the people they are helping! Avon Hill has so much to offer and I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed with the views!

Words cannot describe the multitude of reasons that you should choose Avon Hill for your wedding. From the outstanding accommodations and the beautiful barn to the kindest staff that manages and own it. When I tell you that the venue manager, Jocelyn, got on her hands and knees to scrub a stain out of my wedding dress with a toothbrush, that should show they take their job so seriously and truly care about their clients and forming a friendship rather than just taking your money. I hope that I don’t get married again, but if I did, I would choose Avon Hill over and over again!

Beautiful property, well-maintained and well-stocked house. Plenty of space for our family - so much to do at the property and in the surrounding area. We especially enjoyed the trail to the river and the sunsets on the deck.

Avon Hill was the most beautiful place to get married. We had a LGBTQ+ Indian fusion wedding with a full three days of events from a Sangeet to a Baraat and Reception to a Pool Party. We asked our friends to stay at the accommodations on property. We loved having everything close by, as it made traveling between events, hanging out with guests, and grabbing forgotten items from our item very easy. The full kitchens made sure that we and our friends were fueled up for a weekend of partying. Sarah and Jocelyn were very easy to work with and helped us create our dream wedding. Waking up surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, the beautiful buildings, and our closest friends was a highlight of our experience.

Absolutely beautiful venue for the upscale “barn” wedding. The lodge house is big, comfy and perfect for a retreat or family gathering. Only minus is the the way, way out-of-the-way location and the curvy, dark, narrow roads you need to take to get there.

My family and I, a total of 23, rented The Lodge, The Overlook and The Blue Ridge Suite at Avon Hill 3/25-27/2022. My daughter was having her wedding that Saturday nearby and this was the perfect place that had the room for all of us to stay and socialize. Sarah was so nice and accommodating and easy to communicate with. Mark was very nice and helpful when we checked in. The place was beautiful, had good views and was well supplied. I highly recommend Avon Hill and would go back for a family reunion.

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at Avon Hill Lodge during the Fall of 2022. We had gotten engaged in 2020 and were planning to have our wedding in 2021, but due to COVID we were forced to push our date back so that we could have the wedding of our dreams. When we started looking for venues in May of 2021, we stumbled upon Avon Hill and as soon as we finished touring the grounds we booked for the following November. The scenery is absolutely stunning and Bruce's Barn is beautiful, we hardly needed to decorate because the place really speaks for itself! We had perfect weather the day of our wedding and it really made for a magical day. We were able to have our ceremony outdoors and the reception inside with the option for people to be outside as well. Overall, we would recommend Avon Hill to anyone who asks and we hope to use them again in the future!

We rented the Lodge at Avon Hill for a large group (~16 people) bachelorette weekend. The Lodge accommodated everyone comfortably and the kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. The commercial sized coffee maker was especially appreciated by our large group! The grounds at Avon Hill are impeccably maintained and the views are stunning. Some highlights from our trip were afternoons relaxing at the pool with mountain views, a day trip to two wineries that were only 15-30 minutes from the Lodge, and a low country boil by the Outerbanks Boil Company on our last night. Sarah and Mark--the owner and property managers of Avon Hill--were very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process of booking and during our stay. This is a really special property and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful place outside of Charlottesville, VA.
