I really like our carrier and wish she could deliver directly to our home. She drives right past our house every day, but isn’t allowed to stop because we don’t receive enough first-class mail. Instead, we’re required to pay for a P.O. box and drive 15 minutes each way just to pick up our mail, packages included, even though we pay for postage.
To make things worse, many items don’t fit in the box or the overflow area, so we have to go to the window to retrieve them. The office even closes for an hour at lunchtime, which is frustrating when you’ve already taken time out of your day. Saturdays aren’t much better—they’re only open for two hours, and often the boxes aren’t even filled, which means waiting until Monday and another wasted trip.
Meanwhile, we wave to our carrier as she drives by our house. It’s hard to understand why this policy exists since the postage pays for them to come to our house. Something about they have to pay for the driver to deliver to each house so if there is not enough 1st class mail, they do not want to pay her...as she drives by our house every day.
I asked if I could appeal it, they said contact the main office...have you ever tried to do that? We pay for postage, we pay our taxes.

My postal carrier has been leaving my packages on the ground under my neighbors mailbox. My husband has stage four cancer and I am in a wheelchair so checking the mailbox which is about a quarter of a.mile from my home is not easy. Luckily, we have great neighbors who check it often for us. Today she left medicine on the ground and yesterday a package containing a very expensive product was left on the ground for anyone to come by a pick it up. We've had storms with thunder and heavy rain for days and both of these packages would have been ruined if the had gotten wet. Post Office needs to do better! I will be filing an official complaint and filling out disability forms to have our mail delivered to our door.

1 star is 1 too many for this pathetic post office. These are the kind of people that give our federal government the worthless reputation that they have. I pay my taxes and they will not deliver packages to my house while smiling at you making up ridiculous excuses…it’s called lazy and incompetent. No other post office has ever treated me like these circus clowns.

This post office blatantly discriminates against people who have homes in a rental program. They will not deliver mail or packages to these houses.

The new mail carrier will not deliver a package to my house because she claims there is no turn around. The old mail carrier had no issues delivering packages. We turn around in the drive way all the time. This is an inconvenience for me as I work 7 days a week in lyncburg and have no way to get the packages.

THIS IS The worst post office for delivery. I had a tracked package to be delivered. I had witness that say themail person go up my driveway.("left a note and said insecure location") No note anywhere and since when is a trailer insecure for delivery. We were there She could have knocked. And when I specify leave I mean leave at door. Laziness is not excepted
