Do not bring your animals here. I was told that my cat vomiting constantly throughout the day was normal and that the lump in the area where she was spayed years prior is also normal. Took her to Cooke’s vet on Volvo pkwy to find out that the lump I’ve been feeling that has grown increasingly larger over the years is a HERNIA not just fatty tissue like I was told by this office. I was also given meds for hairballs as she never spits them up so the new vet is hoping that works for her. Again, never offered a solution or meds by Ivor vet for this genuine ISSUE. The new vet also drew labs which Ivor Vet NEVER did in all the visits we brought her to. I’m so disappointed and disgusted, cheap prices for a reason I guess. Take your animals somewhere that genuinely cares about their wellbeing.
Update my cat has HYPOTHYROIDISM now based on lab results from a few days ago. I’m so upset, this could have been caught years ago when we initially raised the issue but instead it was ignored. Thankfully it’s treatable but could have potentially been avoided. They failed my Cat.

Ive been bringing my dog here for a while , clean professional, kind knowledgeable staff. He is sick and a different place said he needed to be euthanized. I came here for second opinion and the nurse and vet were amazing caring and helped us figure out a different plan so we could have more time with our boy . We thank them with all.our hearts . They even donated medications.

I’ve been going to this office since they were on Main St by the post office(about 5 years or so). No issues until recently when it took 4 days for a fecal test results and medicine offered. When I questioned the receptionist about the time frame and was upset and scared over my dog having diarrhea and vomiting and not eating I was told booked appointments took precedence over walkins. Then I was banned for being rude even though I never yelled or cursed, I did cry. They put profits over my pets health and being one of the few Vets out here I guess they don’t need clients. I will take the hour drive to independence Vet hospital in Va beach where I know my pets health is a priority

Our first visit with this vet. Colt barked on entrance ( he is shy and slightly frightened of this strange place). Everyone was sweet and talked with him gently. He never barked at any of them again. Everyone was kind, and I so appreciated them getting down to his level, even with using a stethoscope. They took their time. Offered him treats and let him choose to take it from them or the floor. He had so many that he didn't eat much for super. Haha. Answered my concerns and questions. They made it comfortable and gave him, and me, a place of caring. Thanks, everyone, for making this a great visit!!!

I've been going to this office since they were on Main St by the post office. I still kept 2 of my pups at Va Beach as a backup and they had been there for 12+ years and were amazing. I took my mom and grandmas cats there, yearly checks with the pups. My minpin ended up sick with coccidia that was diagnosed by Va Beach vet and I took stool samples for all 4 of my other dogs and had them tested in Ivor because they were closer and saw 2 of them. No issues, super quick and kind and thankfully no one else was sick. I took molly in for a neck pain issue and Dr was kind and helpful for the most part. My male Jake had a similar issue but Va beach took care of him. He was on meds and rest for months. They did one round of steroids and pain meds for Molly and I didn't really see an improvement. I asked if they could do another round and they wanted to send her to a neurologist which I couldn't afford. My prior experiences with Jake and his treatment made me informed and hopeful meds would work for Molly. Luckily they refilled her meds and she made a recovery. 4-6 months later she was vomiting and having diarrhea which I kept an eye on over the weekend. We were moving and things were stressful so I waited. I brought a stool sample in Tuesday around 2 and had forgotten/lost my purse in the moving process. The receptionist was young and very questionable about me dropping it off. I asked if they could run the test and I'd call back with a credit card(never had an issue with them or any of my other vets doing so) the receptionist said no I had to pay for it before they could run it. I explained my dog was sick and it was important as she could become dehydrated and it wasn't getting better. I then asked how long it would take if I ran and grabbed a card and another receptionist that was rude and new said they were a small practice and had an emergency coming in. Their new facility is not a small practice. Ivor did well by the post office as a smaller practice?? They told me they could hold the sample and run it when I paid. I left and grabbed my dad's cc and called them back 10 minutes later. I didn't get a call that evening before they closed which I kind of understood considering the emergency they had come in. 430 the next day I still hadn't heard anything so I called and asked about results. They said no one was available to talk to me about results. My dog is still vomiting and having diarrhea and at this point not eating. I asked why no one could give me results and I really needed to know if this was simple like worms or if I needed to look at a vet appt for something more serious. I was frustrated and about to cry, I didn't yell or curse. I was simply Questioning why they didn't have a fecal test that they usually do while you wait at the office in less than 15 minutes. The girl I was talking to put me on hold without letting me know and another lady got on the phone and said they would have someone call me by the end of the day. No one called. I received a call the next morning and called them back and spoke with a girl that was kind and let me know Molly did have hook worms. I explained I had 2 dogs and it seemed like a good idea to treat them both but wasn't sure if they could. The girl said she'd ask the dr and get back to me. No one called me back that day or the morning after. I got a call that afternoon saying they wouldn't dispense meds for my other dog because she wasn't a patient. They would give me meds for Molly but would no longer book appointments for me or my pets. I was banned. When I asked why they said I was rude to a receptionist on day one and on day 2 on the phone. I was speaking with the one familiar person in the front end of facility and asked them if they had any issues with me prior and they said no. I then asked why a 15 minute test took 4 days for me to receive meds for my sick dog. She told me that they had been busy and that booked appointments took precedence over walk ins. I asked how I was rude as I had not yelled or cursed

The staff is amazing, caring, compassionate and informative. Our Kola had to be euthanized a couple weeks ago. The staff was so supportive during Kola's transition. Saturday we received a lovely sympathy card from Dr. Alicia and the staff. Included with the card was a heart shaped plant card. My grandson and I planted it Sunday morning. I highly recommend this care team for your pet.
