My order was quickly handled, everyone there was extremely nice and happy that I came by and that I would be using the post office. Several people came by to drop off packages and pick up mail the clerk greet each one by name. Happy to be using this post office!”

4917 Plank Rd, North Garden“This may be the best post office in the country. We have had two experiences here and they were awesome. We got our 4 year olds passport here a couple months back. We were able to get a Saturday appointment a week before, and it was such an easy process! Every other passport location locally was booked out months. Plus the staff was so wonderful getting our daughter to take a picture!I had packages to send out the week for Christmas. And I decided to this location instead of braving the locations in Charlottesville. The staff was so wonderful. They even helped me repackage a box to save me over $50 in shipping costs.I would never think going to the post office would be a highlight of my week, but it really was! Keep up the awesome work.”
“Showed up on Wednesday May 10 around 4:30, trying to ship a box of my things home soon before my flight home and they were closed. Kinda crazy when they close at 5.”

2958 Browns Gap Turnpike, White Hall“This branch is closer to our house than the one on Route 29 but you must park in the parking garage. Only open 5 days a week with no self-serve kiosk. Employees are helpful though haven’t been wearing masks for most of the pandemic.”
“The Barracks Shopping Center post office is outstanding! I go out of my way to use this post office branch because it is so good - friendly, helpful and efficient. Kendrick and James should get 10 stars! The Charlottesville post office powers that be just reduced staffing at the Barracks branch from three people to two people. Lines can get long and, likely, the two remaining staff will become worn out. Another sad fail from the Charlottesville post office management. Ironic it's at the same time postage stamp rates increased to $.66. Is it any wonder the post office has trouble keeping staff.”
“The staff puts in the effort in spite of abusive management and unrealistic expectations of what any single carrier can accomplish within 8 hours. If you are leaving bottled water out for them during the summer months- freeze it, they'll have cold water as it melts.”
“Always helpful. I remember when I brought my son in once years ago and they let him weigh his pinewood derby car for boy scouts in the official scale. It's a small post office - you trade the long lines at the central office for short lines and the occasional lack of packing supplies. Can't have it all - sometimes its just what you need though.”
