“I've been going here for cigarettes ever since my folks were living in Southern Maryland: they're less expensive in Virginia and coming from Maryland it's the first place across the bridge on the right. From the other direction it's very hard to see so keep an eye on your rear-view mirror: gravel parking lot, low building perpendicular to the road, and some stuff off to the right.

In either direction you could stop at a grocery store picking up cigarettes along with your shopping. Don't. This is a specialty shop and the woman who works there knows her stuff. A different generic or name brand cigarette, the same but at a lower price. A lot more about that but lighters are the best example because we're all familiar with them, if you smoke you've used a lighter. Someone to ask and you may still grab the usual and that's fine but you're not grabbing it because it's what's sitting on the counter.

The example is how good she is at solving problems. When I smoke outside they get blown out by the wind; they keep disappearing into a suitcase, car, or someplace on my desk then suddenly I have dozens; sometimes I need to reach for one and get it without looking; I hate logos and want something plain; I don't have tons of money to spend . . . she put it all together and handed me the perfect product, even matte instead of slippery so my hand would catch it in my bag.

You may have to go out of your way but if you smoke you want to go to the Border Store. I'll add that there's a humidor: I'm no help because I haven't bought a cigar for someone in years. But if you're local check it out, if you want something specific ask about them ordering it for you.
