Cousiac Manor is a dream venue—and their incredible team is just as unforgettable as the breathtaking property itself. The water views are absolutely stunning and provide the perfect backdrop for photos, and the white historic home adds such timeless charm and elegance to the entire day. But beyond the beauty, what truly sets this venue apart is the heart and professionalism of the staff.
At a recent wedding where we experienced a sudden downpour right before the ceremony, the Cousiac Manor team worked hand-in-hand with the planner to make major, last-minute pivots. Their calm, can-do attitude and seamless coordination ensured the couple never felt the weight of those changes. Everything flowed so smoothly that the couple didn’t even realize how much was happening behind the scenes—they were simply able to be present and enjoy their day.
I can’t recommend Cousiac Manor enough. It’s a gorgeous, peaceful setting run by a team that truly goes above and beyond to create an exceptional experience for everyone involved.

While this venue certainly boasts a beautiful view, my experience with its management leaves much to be desired. The owners daughter and son-in-law oversee the place, and their management skills are exceedingly poor. The only consistent feature of their approach is a lack of communication and accountability. The daughter is particularly unpleasant, and her husband is no better. If you opt not to purchase their exorbitantly priced cleaning package - on top of all the rentals you might need/want - and if you choose not to use their assistance with setup or breakdown, be prepared for them to closely monitor your efforts and criticize you if they aren't satisfied. My two elderly female family members ended up doing the remainder of the cleaning the day after the wedding (all the big stuff was taken care of the night before by other family members/guests) And despite leaving the venue in pristine condition and documenting it with before-and-after photos, they were subjected to unreasonable demands and hostility. My family members were asked to restack 300 chairs simply because they were not aligned perfectly. The venue even threatened to withhold our deposit based on a contract that was only sent to us in the same month as our wedding, despite having planned it for 18 months.
I am thoroughly disheartened and will continue to advise anyone to look elsewhere. This place's management is severely lacking, and their practices are unacceptable. If I could reverse my choice of venue, I would do so without hesitation. I strongly recommend finding a venue with professional management and a competent cleanup crew.
Edit to respond: I’d like to clarify a few points for a more accurate perspective.
Firstly, while it's noted that Mrs. Leach's emails received responses within 24-48 hours, there were instances where the communication extended beyond 72 hours. This lack of timely correspondence contributed to the misunderstandings that arose.
Additionally, it's important to acknowledge that the hostility during the event was not one-sided. While the situation with Mrs. Leach's grandmother escalated, the stress of the circumstances impacted all parties involved. It’s not fair to direct blame solely towards her, especially given the context of the issues that originated from the other party’s actions.
Finally, I appreciate Cousiac Manor’s affordable options for cleaning, but the decision not to utilize these services should be understood within the broader context of the event’s planning and execution. I believe a collaborative approach in the future can help prevent similar situations.

They put the wrong time on the web page! Guest showed up late and missed the ceremony. They were told to wait till the time on the web page but the venue would not and it was their mistake. If you should use them please pay attention and make them make the correct changes before your guest show up late.😞 Very disappointed in the way they handled things for as much as they charge! 🤪😞

My husband and I had the absolute PERFECT wedding at Cousiac Manor on 5/11/24. Including not have asked for a better day. Having the extra time from Thursday afternoon to Saturday to set up and do rehearsal dinner made it even better. The venue is perfect and Sydney and family were wonderful to work with through the whole process. Thank you all so much for making our dream wedding come true!!

Absolutely beautiful venue & good staff! I emailed the venue probably a 100 times prior to my wedding and they always responded helpfully & within 2-3 days. The only advise I would have for future brides/grooms would to look into a setup/takedown/cleanup crew.

So easy to work with! Cousiac Manor is a beautiful venue with many options for your ceremony location (love that especially with how VA weather is!) with a great price for what it includes and how long your rental is for. Couldn’t have pictured our special day anywhere else!
