“I really liked the vet she was awesome. She took her time loving on my cat till she felt a little more comfortable. She did not jump right into x-rays and blood work. She did her exam and did a urine test. They clipped her nails at my request. She came up with the problem and sent us home with some medication. I loved the staff too. I did feel she was a little on the expense side. But I have not been to a vet in 4 or 5 years, and that was a different state to. So they may be on target. All that to say, it might be good to ask the prices of just a general exam before you book your appointment if you are tight on money like me. Overall, an awesome vet and staff!!!!”

“Dr. B, you are not only an awesome doctor with great surgical skills, you are a kind and compassionate human being! We are thankful we found you. I’ve been to other local vets, and you definitely stand out above the rest. We recently had to put our dog down and you did it in the most empathetic way. This was not the first time we have been through this and believe me there was such a big difference between you and the other vet. Because it hurts too much to go into detail, I will just say that your compassion made a big difference in the extremely sad loss of our canine family member.”

“Our Rhodesian Ridgeback (Star, 5) started limping after the snowstorms and we assumed a sprained muscle. Dr Pate mentioned he wanted to see her again if the pills did not help. After not getting better it was discovered that she had Osteosarcoma. He put in a referral for us for a Vet in Henrico, but was very open with what this meant for our dog.

We chose pallative care. Dr Pate did not make us feel bad and continually checked in on Star to make sure she was doing ok or if she needed different meds. She did really well for 4 months following the diagnoses until we saw her light starting to dim and put her down.

I have seen Vets in the past that try and push treatments but respected the Dr Pate was honest and supported our decision to spend what time we had left with our dog in a happy way”

“I live an hour away but I came here for my dog to have TPLO surgery because I heard good things about the staff here. I am incredibly glad I did. I have a great local (to me) vet. But I have never met a more caring, compassionate, professional staff as the staff here. The doctors, clinical staff, office staff. Every single person I encountered was excellent and really cared for my dog. I am sad they aren’t close enough to use for my regular maintenance vet. If you’re considering this location for regular care or surgical care, don’t hesitate. They are fantastic. My dog can walk and run again thanks to this location and I am beyond grateful to them.”
