I normally do not write reviews, but I feel that I need to write one after my experience yesterday at Catoctin. My 17-year-old dog named Lucie who suffered from several health issues was struggling to breathe yesterday afternoon. I knew it was unfortunately her time and had some reservations about bringing her to the vet to put her down, because I had always wanted to do it at home where she felt most comfortable. I called Catoctin and they told me to bring her in right away. Once I got into the clinic they brought me right into a room. They took her back to put a catheter in her leg and ensured me that she was not stressed. They handed her back to me and were able to administer the drugs while she remained laying on my lap in her bed. The whole time they explained exactly what was happening and reassured me that I was making the correct decision. After she passed the vet asked me if I wanted a hug (since I was visibly distraught and alone since my boyfriend was unable to make it home in time). They then gave me some time alone with her and when I was ready, they walked me out through the back without having to handle any of the payment that day. I am so grateful for the entire staff and for Dr. Trinidad who I believe was the vet who handled the appointment. I would also highly recommend Dr. Robbins, who was Lucie's primary vet and was always patient and helpful with my many concerns. I just wanted to thank Catoctin for making such a stressful and difficult decision easier. I will be using Catoctin for my other pets in the future.

Dr Conway is hands down one of the most caring, diligent, and committed vets my wife and I ever had. She's been wonderful to the three of our dogs and have no qualms of always recommending her services to others!

They used to be a localy owned. Since they were bought by large coperate vet group prices have gone up and new vets that run up the bill with unnessary tests. And the best vets have left the pratice. I am going to find a new local Veteriany clinic.

I have seen Dr Carson many times with my very old dog who had a bunch of health issues. He and the staff have always been very caring and understanding and treated my little guy with compassion. Dr Carson has always listened to me and helped me decide what plan of action is best for me and my dog while listening to me when appropriate. I was so glad that when it came time so say good bye to my buddy that dr Carson was able to be there. Also when it came time to euthanize him I had to cancel two appointments because I was struggling with having to say goodbye and was waiting for family to be able to say goodbye before I took him, they were so wonderful about the cancellations and got me in when I needed it after that. I couldn't have asked for a better experience a better vet and nicer staff!

If you are looking for a vet clinic where the staff actually cares about you and your pet, DO NOT take your pet here! They may have a few nice vets, but the hospital manager Paige is the absolute rudest and most unprofessional person I have ever encountered and the staff is not knowledgeable or equipped to handle emergency situations. After her staff offered me dangerous advice about an injury to my dog, she avoided my calls for three weeks. When she finally did call me, she was defensive from the start, and told me that what her staff did was the right thing. She never offered me an apology, assured me it wouldn't happen again, or asked how my dog was doing. Instead, she told me that she would happily send my dog's records to another clinic and to never call her again. Then hung up on me!!!! I am in complete shock over this and can not believe that I was treated this way by someone who is supposed to be the leader of a vet clinic. I did happily find another clinic who already shows more care for me and my dog than the staff at Catoctin before even having our first office visit! As others have mentioned in their reviews, I hope to save someone else from the misery of experiencing this!

This place has literally gone to the dogs. Checked out from an appointment and then I guess front desk doesn't know how to do their job and decided to add charges after I checked out. If I pay this bill will I get another bill of added charges? Conway also suggested I put my cat down after she went blind. She lived for another 5 years without problems. Hope Conway doesn't go blind. Guess we will have to put her down if she does. The other older vet who isn't there anymore tried to create a mountain out of a mole hill for my other dog. Then guilt trip you into spending money. I took the x rays to my horse surgeon vet and we just laugh at how foolish they are. I worked for the largest animal hospital in DC. I got paid more by increasing everyone's bill. Looks like Catoctin is operating the same way. I wouldn't take a dead squirrel here. Front desk seems to be clueless and rest of them are not much better. You need to bring back Terry and pay her whatever she wants. That lady was priceless. She even acknowledged you when you walked through the door unlike the youngins who seem to be confused that they work at a vets office.

If I could rate Catoctin Veterinary clinic 10 stars, I would! I have been taking my dog Bleu to Catoctin since he was 4 months old and I refuse to take him anywhere else. I have seen three different doctors and they have all been so kind, professional, informative, and curtious. Whether it is a routine check up or an emergency situation, they do a thorough job and are SO great with my Bleu! Dr. Henneke and Dr. Robin are my absolute favorites-- they take their time when checking Bleu and explain any and all relevant information to me (in a way that I understand). I always leave my appointments reassured and feeling well informed-- and more importantly, Bleu leaves happy! There have been a few emergency situations and they squeezed Bleu in every single time. Additionally, the prices are SIGNIFICANTLY better than VCA-- which is where my dog went initially. Please, please, please go to Catoctin if you have a fur baby! You are in the BEST hands!!

Absolutely love everything about this clinic and it's amazing staff. My 14-year-old dog Luna has been seeing Dr. Conway for about seven years now. I can't say enough positive things about the care she has received. From cleaning and extracting teeth to removing a cancerous tumor, Dr. Conway and her staff deliver excellent care in every respect and are so kind and thoughtful. Follow up care is excellent as is everything involved on the business side. I have referred multiple friends and neighbors to this clinic who have also been thrilled. Thank you Dr. Conway and to each and every one of your amazing staff members. We could not be more grateful.

I could not be more pleased with Dr Hennecke and Jenny especially today. Dr Pruckowski retiring was devastating to me as I adored that man like no other. Dr Hennecke is doing the MOST AMAZING job at filling those shoes. Thank you guys for taking great care of my boy (Max) today and always

With the changes COVID forced on the way veterinary care is being done and the increase in demand veterinarians are experiencing due to so many more people getting pets, I thought long and hard before posting this review. But the truth of the matter is, the blatant disregard for my puppy and the horrendous Customer service from Dr Conway and her staff is just unfathomable no matter the circumstances. We were first time patients of Catoctin vet and we took our pup to see Dr. Conway a few times before his neutering. She always seems rushed and really scatter brained but I blamed it on the pandemic and let those unsatisfactory experiences slide. What I can't get over is how we were treated after he was neutered. They sent us home with a cone that was still wrapped in its original packaging and not on our pup. It didn't phase me too much at the time because we had purchased a round soft cone on Amazon that was intended to serve the same purpose- but be more comfortable ( I never disclosed having my own cone to them, though). I put the soft cone from Amazon around his neck and we went home. It wasn't until we got home that we realized that the device we got from Amazon didn't really serve his purpose so we put the vet supplied cone on. When we woke up the next morning we noticed that his incision was really red and looked worse than it did the night before. This occurred on a Sunday, hence their office was closed so since it didn't look infected we just kept an eye on it for the remainder. By day end it began to look less "annoyed". The next morning we woke up to see the site red and inflamed again but much worse than the night before. I called Catoctin and spoke to the receptionist. I explained the situation and asked if I should send in a picture for the doctor to look at. He proceeded to tell me that I could but that but he didn't know when Dr. Conway would be able to look at it because she had appointments every 15 minutes and didn't know when she would be back at her desk. I asked if another doctor could look and his response was: I don't know - they're all busy. My response: Ok so should I bring him in? His response : we don't have anything until Wednesday. At this point I was just done and I knew if I didn't get off the phone with him I would say things I would probably end up regretting so I told him I'd send the picture and wait for their call. A few hours later and no response, I called back to follow up. I then spoke to a vet tech who was nice enough to actually give me some reassurance and tell me that it looked OK but that she would ask Dr. Conway to give me a call back. The tech called me back and said that Dr Conway said everything looks fine and to keep the cone on him at all times (which we had already been doing anyways). The next day we wake up to same scenario except this time there was also a bruise off to the side of the incision. Instead of calling right away, I sent a picture via email and then called a few minutes later to make sure they received it and explain my concern about the bruise. The receptionist said she'd show the dr and call me back. The receptionist called back a few moments later reiterating the same thing about keeping the cone on at all times because it looked like he had gotten to his incision. I explained that we have had the cone on him at all times and my concern was the bruise. The receptionist's response was "I don't know that's just what Dr Conway said." So I asked if I had any reason to be concerned about an infection or internal bleeding. I could hear the receptionist telling Dr. Conway this situation and then I hear Dr. Conway yell "NO". I was so upset about this interaction I just hung up. I took my pup to an emergency vet and they told me that the cone they gave us wasn't big enough and that's why he able to get to the incision at night. In my opinion, this is pure negligence and disregard for a patient. Had they bothered to check if the cone given was of

6 years later and I am still so pleased with the staff and doctors at Catoctin Vet. They quickly modified for COVID-19 and made it safe and comfortable for our pups. Look forward to being a patient-mom for years to come.

I had such a great experience with Catoctin. They're taking great precautions due to covid (which I am super appreciative of because we are 100% quarantined), so we waited in our car and they came out to retrieve my dog Tulip. This is the first time we've visited a vet since March and I had a bit of a laundry list of things Tulip needed so I expected to be waiting an hour or more. I couldn't believe how quickly the appointment went. Our vet, Dr. Geier, came out and spoke to me at my car window wearing a mask and talked options with me at length. She was so kind and thorough. Honestly from start to finish this was one of my top vet experiences. Highly recommend!!! Thank you Catoctin & Dr. Geier!
