“Choosing our wedding venue was one of the biggest decisions we made, and we could not be happier that we chose Riverside on the Potomac. From the very beginning, working with Suzi was such a wonderful experience. She was incredibly easy to communicate with, helpful, and made the entire process feel smooth and enjoyable.

The property itself is absolutely beautiful. The barn and grounds have so much charm and character, and what I loved most was the versatility of the space. Rustic is not typically my personal style, but I was amazed at how we were able to transform the venue into something that felt elegant, elevated, and completely “us.”

One of the biggest advantages of choosing this venue was their incredible relationships with vendors. Their preferred vendor list was filled with talented, trustworthy professionals, and having that level of connection made the planning process so much easier. It truly took a lot off of our plate and gave us confidence that we were working with people who already knew and loved the venue.

We got married here in April 2026, and it was an absolute dream. FLAMS was the 4th venue we toured, and an immediate match!! Patricia and Karl have created the most authentic, beautiful slice of heaven on their farm, and it was such a privilege to get married here. We worked most closely with Patricia, who is a wonderful, creative person who will go above and beyond to help bring your vision to life!

I also cannot shut up about the incredible and unique details at the farm-- including but not limited to: mini ponies you can lead out at cocktail hour, horses your guests can pet, a BEAUTIFUL barn with windows that make the reception area GLOW at golden hour, a Juliette balcony behind the sweetheart table, and a laundry list of things you just have to experience in person! The venue is already so beautiful that the only decoration you need to bring is flowers and any personal touches you want.

“The Murray Hill barn is an absolutely beautiful property. Very spacious and was well equipped with items we needed. More than the venue, Peggy, the owner, is an absolute pleasure to work with. She’s highly responsive and helped us out so much the day before and on the day of the event! We held our baby shower event and I wouldn’t choose any other venue and wouldn’t have it any other way!

“I’ve photographed a wedding at Oatlands Historic House & Gardens, and it’s easily one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Northern Virginia. The gardens are stunning throughout the day, with plenty of shaded paths, elegant stone architecture, and countless spots for portraits without ever feeling repetitive.

From a photographer’s perspective, the venue offers incredible variety. You can capture intimate moments in the formal gardens, romantic portraits by the historic mansion, and beautiful golden-hour light across the grounds. The staff was organized, professional, and kept the day running smoothly, which made it easy for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.

“Attended a wedding here. The grounds are beautiful. Although the day of the wedding, was raining, the house was cozy and accommodated the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner. Lovely venue and wonderful staff.”

“Excellent facility, great for a wedding or special event. Parking lot has no lights so bring a flashlight if your event goes into the night. The lights are probably 10 watt bulbs and my wife tripped trying to get to the car because we couldn't see anything ...very dark. Otherwise an amazing place and we had a great time at the facility”
