I’ve been a member of this Credit Union since 2012 and was forced to pay for CUNA Mutual debt protection. When I was forced on a medical leave from my chaplaincy position, CUNA Mutual requested for my medical records, emails from my forced medical leave and note from the doctor I was seeing. The CUNA Mutual rep denied the claim stating they have a contract with InFirst FCU not to accept medical records. Why on green earth did you request for my medical records if this clause contract existed. Why don’t you have a medical doctor examining medical records to determine the validity of a health condition. Why is InFirst pushing for members to pay for debt protection in the event of a life emergency with a company that has been sued for acting in bad faith in South Dakota a verdict for $6.2 m was entered against CUNA Mutual for denying legitimate disability claims. InFirst FCU has knowledge of pending direct deposits and charging junk fees for $3 transactions. Also J Wiley is correct they have an issue with providing mortgages to single female. The minimum credit score is 740 for their loan products but they sell this faulty debt protection that does nothing when you have a true medical condition that causes impairment. The management has been unresponsive and non-transparent in communications about their new policies. They won’t call me back but they want me to vote for their merger. I’m not voting on a merger when I can’t get a response or a notification about important financial questions. Stop charging Junk Fees and get a real system for tracking and processing cardholder disputes.

UPDATE: After I posted this review on 6/9/2022, "conveniently" my INFIRST FCU APP on my phone stopped working, too. Won't allow me access to my account through the app claiming I have another app in my phone capable of pulling my info. I'm "sure" that app just happened to be detected right after I left my 1 star review.I have been with this credit union for approximately 30 years, probably more.Have not once ever been approved for a mortgage or home equity program through them ... Not Once.In my personal experience with this credit union, these folks are prejudice against single female individuals.If this is you and you're looking for ANY mortgage or home improvement loans, go elsewhere. You will be denied. Doesn't matter your score, either.They never return calls to advise about loan status, either, you have to waste time calling several times to ask to be told "it is still in review" after several days.They, also, placate you by asking for more information only to deny the loan each time.I hate this FCU, actually have hated them for a long time. Once my car is paid off, I'm closing the account forever.

SO rude. Called to just get information on home loans and was rudely told I needed to be a member to even compare rates and then was hung up. Don't recommend. Spectra was courteous and helpful, try them instead.

This credit union has denied me home improvement loans several times over the years. They approve unsecured, personal and car loans; however, never a home improvement or home equity loan.\nIt is my personal opinion that this credit union is prejudiced against single/never married women and I would bet unmarried/divorced individuals may be prejudiced against, too.\nBelonged to this FCU for over 30 years.\nThey have no respect for me as a member. I walked in to withdrawal money and was immediately met by a women who yelled from the desk the max withdrawal amount is $1000 and that I shouldn't be entering the room until my withdrawal slip is filled out she was extremely rude and unprofessional about the matter.

Absolutely worst service. My credit union (California Coast) sent me here to deposit a check because it is a shared branch. My check was a large check directly from Prudential. Alexandria Branch Manager Rebecca Mason refused to deposit the check. She was unable to give me a good reason despite large checks being automatically put on hold. Nor was I requesting a withdrawal and I have been a member of my credit union for over 20 years. Too bad I cannot give 0 star. I do not recommend this establishment any I will not be back. 15 minutes later I drove down the road and deposited my check at Arlington Community Federal credit union, no problem. The friendly serviceable teller told me that they service members from shared branches all over the world including Alaska. I highly recommend using them instead great service.

I visited this bank as a member of another credit union in the CO-OP Shared Network, and I was extremely impressed by the service I received. I never thought I'd write a review for a bank, but this is the best service I've ever received in one. I called beforehand and a representative quickly responded to me, and as soon I stepped into the building I was directed to a teller for assistance. The transaction couldn't have been easier. My mother has been deceased for over a year. Even after acknowledging receipt of a copy of her death certificate, the monthly statement continues to come. Interestingly, it's legal to attempt to collect the debt of a deceased person from surviving relatives.
