Great local course. No frills, but in excellent shape and the owners could not have been nicer. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed!

Just played there today. Photos in the review were from today (Mid-November 2024) The club is a mom and pop shop so it's very low key. The greens were in amazing shape especially in November.
The front desk owner, Lisa, was very nice and personable. Allowed us to play 9 and let us decide if we wanted to play the back 9 if time allowed.
Green fee was a bargain at $65 for 18 holes and a cart. ($45 for 9). I found this super reasonable considering other courses in the area are $169.
Cart path is rough at places. So? You're in a cart. The gravel isn't going to hurt you and we're able to get to the next hole.
Definitely going back!

Course is in rough shape. Fairways are really bad. Played here 4 times hoping it would get better and it just didn’t. Club house is understaffed and one lady in particular is pretty rude about everything. No real food at the turn and no drinking allowed. Would show up and call multiple times without answer. There are never updates on if the practice areas are randomly closed either. Waiting around for someone to show up to get range balls or a tee time is not ideal then you see the price tag and it’s insane. This place is way over priced for what you get. Carts are pretty beat up as well. Cart path is a nightmare to drive on. Range balls for 10 bucks and the putting green are the only saving grace (if someone is there to get your range balls and they don’t randomly close the putting greens) Really tried to enjoy this course and support them but there is just so much wrong here.

DO NOT READ OLD REVIEWS. I just finished playing and the course is in amazing shape. Some fun holes, a few challenging holes, and overall a great experience. Greens are in good shape with some crab grass here and there. Fairways are in incredible shape. Traps are ground under repair. But play this course if you are in the area.

Don’t come here it’s such a bad course, the greens are terrible, the fairways are worse than my yard at home and the workers are just weird, had a guy following us around for the last couple of holes to make sure we didn’t play 18. Super overpriced for how bad the course is and 25 extra just for someone to ride.

Rude. Website says open without appointments, so I parked in the church parking lot and was walking down the road.
A lady comes up in a golf cart and says it is private property.
I don't really get it. There is an open gate, banners everywhere and no markings of any kind requiring appointments or any such.
Personally, I just wanted to find out more info about the course as a resident of Louisa for 15 years, as I was interested in golfing there. Certainly won't be making any more efforts in that regard.

Does anyone actually answer the phone? It’s not like people are tripping over each other to play this course

A group of us came out to Lake Anna for a week and went to Tanyard. This country course was in Fantastic shape! It has Bermuda fairway and greens. I'm from Chicago so I'm not use to those but the greens were so luscious they held & I putted the lights out. Not so much from the fairways. We went back 4 times. The last day I figured out Bermuda's so the next time I'm there I hope I score better! You have to go!!

Played here in 2022 and 2023, a year after new ownership. Nice improvements on maintenance, greens and fairways. A nice local course. Range balls gets you a full bucket and a majority are real ball vs RANGE balls, $10 large. 5 stars for improvements and location in Louisa.

First and last time playing this course. The morning we went course still had dew on it. Greens have been painted to give it a good look. Green paint was all over our clubs, golf balls and shoes. Greens were in terrible shape (thickest greens I have ever played on) it was like being in the second cut. Guy in another review mentioned cow pasture ( he was not to far off). Doesn’t look like they put any money back into the course. No ball washers anywhere on the course the list goes on and on!!

I can only imagine that the four and five stars are the owners or a “plant.” Pay attention to the poor reviews. They are accurate.
