I’ve been a customer of this facility for seven years, renting both indoor and outdoor units since it first opened. The property and units are always clean and well-kept, and the customer service is outstanding. Any time I call, there’s always a friendly and helpful person on the other end of the phone. I recently rented a storage unit at Lovingston Self Storage, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was friendly, professional, and eager to help. They explained all the options clearly and helped me choose the right unit size for my needs.
The facility is spotless and well-lit, with secure gated access and 24/7 surveillance, which gave me peace of mind. I especially appreciate the climate-controlled units - my furniture and electronics stayed in perfect condition.
I also love how easy it is to access my unit. The hours are flexible and I have my own personal access code for the gate and building. Overall, I highly recommend Lovingston Self Storage to anyone looking for a safe and reliable place to store their belongings.

I was renting a unit and when I went to check my stuff my unit had been in and stuff had been taking. When I call to speak with the owner/ manager, they were very rude and disrespectful. When I told them that I will be leaving a bad review they told me that it was ok they would just go on there and delete it like they do all their bad reviews that are left. I had people tell me to not rent from this storage as they have a history of doing this to people.

Terrible Experience – Do Not Rent From Here
At first, everything seemed fine, but once it came time to end the contract, things went downhill fast. They continued to charge me over $300 even after I tried to cancel. There’s virtually no customer service — when I called for help, the person I spoke to was extremely rude and unprofessional. Despite speaking to him respectfully, he had a bad attitude and ended up hanging up on me. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

We moved from Hampton and needed a temporary place to store our belongings until we closed on our new house. They were very accommodating and friendly. Units are very clean as well as outside. Fair pricing as well. Michael was such responsive and respectful person. When we first showed there was a mishap with our lock and he showed up within 10-15 minutes to help. Strongly recommend this facility.

We live in Virginia Beach so we needed a storeroom to store wedding stuff near the venue until the big day and we’re blessed to find one 10 minutes away. This helped alleviate so much stress from worrying about getting it all in the car from home the week of. The company is very communicative. From the time I called to check availability and to see if they did short term rentals to when I paid and needed directions on how to proceed, they made the process so easy. Upon arrival we found the instructions for entry simple to follow and the store units to be so clean, ample sized and very secure. Thank you Lovingston storage it’s been a pleasure to work with you.

This was the most pleasant experience I have ever had with renting a storage unit. From the time I called to set up the unit until I moved my things out, it was smooth sailing. The facility felt clean, secure and was certainly convenient. If ever I need to rent from them again I will without hesitation! Thanks for a great experience!

Great location with a fully fenced facility with climate and drive up units. The property and storage units are very clean. Spaces for parking a camper or RV are also available. I saw more units are being added.

Lynn and her husband run the storage facility in Lovingston, VA. Lovingston Va Self Storage right behind Food Lion. Everything I would say started out good last year, when I first rented the unit. Last year after we did the contract and I gave Lynn's husband my check, I decided to recheck the payment information after a couple of days and I realized that I had been over charged. Lynn's husband was fine with that and he had me rewrite another check and he gave me back the first check. Now to this year, I get alerts on my phone when money is being deducted or added to my account. I look at my phone and it's saying thanks for paying your bill with Lovingston Va Self Storage, and it has the amount that was deducted. I looked at my daughter and I said now you are sitting right here with me, I'm not even online paying anything. I called and talked to Lynn and she tells me in a nonchalant way "she thought that I had automatic withdrawal," mind you I have been with them for around a year and I've always paid through online manually, not through automatic payment. I said okay, and got off the phone, but the more I thought about it, I couldn't shake the feeling of Lynn just making me feel like it was not a big deal. I called backed and told her, I said this is not right, I did not authorize you to take money out of my account. I also said that you can get in trouble for debiting my account without authorization and she hung the phone up on me. She did say that she would put the money back in my account, which it did appear back on my account after about three to four days. My thing with that is, suppose I didn't have that much money in my account at that moment for storage, now she's made my account go into the negative. She then sent me a certified letter wanting me to move out of their facility unit. I don't think that I would have never known about the money being debited if it wasn't for my phone alerting me and constantly checking my bank account, (The way it's setup on their website they can see your account info. if you are paying yourself online every month). I did find a better and cheaper storage unit, which was not a problem, but renters be aware because Lynn is not willing to be wrong if you confront her. I was told by a friend and a deputy to do a cashier's check from here on out. So my advice is to do a cashier's check or a money order for this particular facility and also make sure that you can view all of your account information because I couldn't see every payment that I had made but my bank account showed every payment. Just be aware and constantly check your account if you are going to have your sensitive info for others to see. It was a learning experience for me. I just don't want others to go through what I went through. (Not everyone can move from one storage unit to another in a short period of time or have the money to do so). I was blessed to be able to do both and did not need a U-Haul either. Good Luck!!!!

Clean and affordable rates. It's right on 29 but access is behind Food Lion. I rented online.
