These other reviews are a little ridiculous. I’ve been coming to this store for a few years now. The owner/staff HAVE ALWAYS been super friendly and helpful. He always greets me with a smile and I feel welcome every time. The prices aren’t as bad as people are making it out to be. It is a local shop- not Amazon. Honestly the price is better than Amazon or online. I love supporting OUR community, so I’m okay with spending an extra dollar. They have great selections of spices, sauces, ramen, treats, and fresh produce that you can’t elsewhere. I adore the kimchi they sell.

yeah don’t believe the people who say that they “overprice” their products... basically everything is literally half of what it would be in walmart/amazon and the japanese and chinese snacks are amazing! super cute stuff too as well as chopsticks, cups, plates, and even non food related stuff like toys! even saw some pans and rice cookers in there too. and the marble soda is so good! not for everyone ofc but i love it

More than 100% not recommended.A couple things to point out..1) all the items are way overpriced.2) The owner is very rude based on his facial expression and body language. He did not give my credit card back to me by hands and threw it to me instead.

This is a fun and unique shopping experience. We have been going to the Oriental Grocery periodically for 20 years. They have always had a great selection of authentic oriental ingredients and ready made meals. The staff is always friendly and willing to help find whatever you are looking for. They have an excellent selection of cooking oils, sauces, and vinegars. They have Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese foods. We especially love to try the authentic candies and cookies. Have loved using their products to introduce friends and family to a true Asian cuisine experience.--They also have a lot of beautiful oriental style traditional clothing.

Love this place. They always seem to have what I'm looking for when I want to make Asian food. The owners will give you tips on how to prepare dishes. They are a little pricey but it costs to import authentic products.

We love this little store. The staff is friendly and if you have a need for something in the Asian cooking department, chances are they have it. We get our vinegar, noodles, sauces, chili oil, and ramen from here when we are in town. There is a lot to be found in here, so definitely check them out!

My harder to find Asian food to try and make my own hot and sour. A lady helped me, she guessed I was making hot and sour and offered up a tip. Apparently you don't use hot sauce or chili but white pepper.

An abundance of Asian products for all your cooking needs. Prices can be high for some items, but they have a wide variety of products. The owner is friendly. So take your time and look around the store.

The most OVERPRICED Asian Grocery I have ever been too! Outrageous. We also didn’t appreciate him forcing his political views on us as we checked out. So rude. We won’t be back… and will buy our groceries in Charlottesville.
