Although I have never written a Google review in my life, I want to share my experience for other brides considering Body Works Salon and Day Spa.
A few months before my hair & makeup trial, I was originally called and told my stylist, Emily Garbee Harris, had been double booked for both my trial and another client’s wedding. About 30 minutes later, they called back and confirmed the issue had been resolved.
Fast forward a few months: I called a week before my trial to reconfirm. A gentleman answered, initially said my appointment was with Amanda, but after I corrected him, he confirmed that yes, my appointment was still with Emily. I felt reassured everything was set.
Soon after, I was called and asked to move my trial from Friday to Saturday, which I agreed to. Then I was asked again to adjust the time slightly earlier, which I also agreed to. When I arrived (running a little late myself), I learned for the first time that Emily was actually on medical leave for six months. For context of the urgency, I am an October bride whose trial appointment was in September.
I decided to continue with Amanda as my hairstylist and the contracted makeup artist. The makeup artist was absolutely wonderful—the highlight of the day. Unfortunately, the hair trial was disappointing:
1) Black bobby pins were used instead of copper ones to match my red hair
2) My hair was not curled until the end
3) The stylist did not know how to help my curls hold and expressed her concern they would fall out.
4) I was told not to part my hair down the middle (as I normally do) because of my cowlick, which limited the style I wanted
5) It took around 15 minutes for her to figure out how to start the braid.
6) When I inquired about extensions (for more fullness), I was told they could not do them
7) I brought clear inspiration photos, but the final result was not close.
I’m sure Emily is very talented—she came highly recommended by my venue—but unfortunately, I never had the chance to work with her. My review is not against her personally nor the salon, but to inform other brides who may book within the next six months while she is on leave and may find themselves in a similar predicament due to poor communication.

Thank you so much Emily and.Abbey. I absolutely love my hair! I can hardly wait for my makeup lesson and eyelash extensions! Rae is an awesome masseuse! You all made me feel so special. And Kelly was so kind. Thank you all so much ❤️. I wholeheartedly recommend this spa experience!

Felt like we were not a priority even though we booked two back to back appts , was left under dryer a long time I felt like I was forgotten. My hairdresser was doing 6 things at once and not only hair also alterations on costumes for some dance school When your spending that kind of money you should feel pampered and we didn’t. I actually. Hate my hair. I went for full highlights was told only get partial when I was done I loved it but when o went to gym and put hair up it was all dark not happy. That’s why I asked for full head. Hair dresser super sweet just overbooks and that’s why she didn’t have time to do full head

My husband got me a package for my birthday, included a spa manicure, spa pedicure and a 55 minute full body massage. I was there a little longer than I fully planned but overall happy with the services, the whole staff was very friendly. The masseuse Rae was wonderful! I highly recommend going for a little treat to yourself!

I went there for a massage a few days ago (I'm not a regular recipient of those) and was kinda disappointed with the amount of pressure I got during my experience. My fault for not speaking up as I have an issue with that lol. I called and they were SUPER nice and understanding and credited me back the money I paid for the massage and told me that their customers are their top priority and that they insist I come back. They didn't have to do that, considering it's up to me to speak up on how I like things and that's a growth opportunity for me. They have my business for life. Fleming is also the best with waxes, and she's such a beautiful soul. Thanks Body Works, I will continue to tell everyone how awesome my experience was ❤️

Salon owner reached out, we had a cordial conversation over the phone regarding the situation that occurred between my wife and an employee. We will not be returning to this place of business but I will note that the incident occurred while the owner was not present at the establishment. My updated review is solely based on the professional conversation I had with the owner and not on the experience my wife had.

Body Works was phenomenal. Very clean and a fantastic atmosphere! Rae was very professional and skilled during my massage and salt scrub. Totally worth the cost! I felt so relaxed coming out and will definitely be back!
