My grandmother came here to purchase a frame and went to grab a coffee before shopping around the store. She must’ve parked in an improper spot. The owner was extremely rude and difficult about it and placed a boot on her car in a matter of a couple minutes, charging her an illegal price to remove it. Very disappointed and business lost from this family!

Melinda is extremely rude and not sympathetic to the lack of parking around her and the other neighboring stores downtown. I too was booted and had to pay a $50 fee for her to come and remove the tire lock that was placed on my car. She said she waits about 2 minutes before she comes out and boots any car parked in her lot. She seemed almost excited for the confrontation about the boot she’s placed on MY vehicle. Yes she does have signs BUT there are better, kinder, and more professional ways to go about asking someone to move their car. Standing outside of my car AFTER I have already paid you and harassing me to move it was not appreciated. I will never support her business. Treat others with kindness and sympathy. Being bitter and rude to others takes a lot more effort than being kind, or simply saying nothing at all.

Went here to get a substantial amount of work done for my new home that was being redecorated. While parking my car I got a call from my husband that was meeting me there, but he was walking from a restaurant up the street. Rather than look at his phone for directions, I just popped out to the sidewalk to stand and wait for him until I could see him, and then walk in together. Mind you, I never left the view of the store. I just had my back turned to it. As he meets me, and we turn around to make our way towards the store, I see an older lady pacing out front of the store talking aggressively on her phone while looking at the parking lot, then back at me, and so forth. I walk to my car to grab my purse and she barks, “IS THAT YOUR CAR?? CAN YOU READDDD???” And slings her arm at the “24 hour no parking sign” that enforces towing. She was obviously on the phone trying to get a tow truck there as fast as possible (must be a past time of hers). At first I was frantic to explained to her what I had been doing, and that we were coming in to her business and that’s why I had parked there. However, after a few more snide comments from her, I just felt sour about giving her significant amounts of my hard earned money, so we left without even walking inside.

Repeat satisfied customer! Dont listen to the haters with the negative reviews. Those are the Applebee's crowd looking for a free meal who wouldn't recognize and/or appreciate quality if it slapped them in the face. You know who I'm talking about. Are custom frames expensive? yup. Are they worth it? Yup. Is Melinda amazing? YUP! highly recommend! A++. ample parking for a downtown store front.

Melinda framed an antique portrait for me and did a spectacularly beautiful job. In addition, the frame came in an outer part and an inner part, and Melinda hand-tinted the inner part to match the outer; there's no way you could tell any difference between the two. I could not be happier with the results!

I plan on going back there to get one of the most beautiful frames I've ever seen! As an artist I have to watch my prices though, and she is quite pricey.

For anyone that has a boot put on their car by the owner of Melinda's -It is illegal to boot a car unless you have the legal authority to boot cars. You could and likely will be held responsible for any damages caused by your illegal act. This could include the $100s one may charge to have the illegal boot removed.She does not have authority to boot cars and charge you a fee to remove it, do not engage with this shady individual or her business. I would not recommend this business to anyone, find another picture framing shop and save yourself the hassle and time spent with this horrible owner.

This woman needs Jesus. Owner is extremely rude and has a disgusting attitude. Simply went to deliver some groceries to some elderly people that are her neighbors and she threatens immediately to put a boot on your car that you have to pay $50 to remove. Do not conduct business here she’s a very nasty person and is not worth talking too or dealing with. If I could give her negative stars I would.

Paid melinda's $700+ for framing and I feel deep in my heart that it was way overpriced for the quality of the frame and overall work. Aside from that, the owner was very rude to my husband who was parked in the parking lot while he was waiting for me during the time that I was inside Melinda's store. I didn't find out about the rudeness until I got back to the car. My husband explained that she was very rude while telling him that he couldn't park in the parking lot.

Got extorted for $50 because I parked in her COMPLETELY empty lot to deliver something to her neighbors ( I am handicapped and cannot walk several blocks to another spot, it was completely empty) ..this woman actually had a boot on my car within about 60 seconds. I will be calling the city, as well, as VA law states if she charges anything, it has to be less than $25. She is incredibly rude and one day, she will get back what she gives out to others. I hope she thinks of me that day. I'd give no stars if I could, as with her attitude she deserves negative stars.

Would give negative stars if I could. I guess the business must be struggling because she practices predatory booting of vehicles who errantly park in her lot. Maybe she should actually post the lot. Instead, she rushes out and boots your vehicle as fast as she can and extorts a 50.00 fee to take it off. Terrible person. I would never, ever go here for framing and will be sure to tell all friends and family to do business elsewhere as well.

Owner is very rude! I was actually going to go into her business. I took a moment to text a friend back and as soon I was getting out of the car she came out yelling. Her parking lot was completely empty. No wonder though because she is running all her business away. She is old enough to understand how to treat her customers...but I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
