I am a frequent customer of Advance Auto, but since we moved to the area in Madison Heights VA 24572 , the 310 Amelon Square location has become my go-to for any automotive need I may have. While we have all of the big auto stores in the area with competitive pricing, it is the consistent excellence in service and help that keeps me coming here than anywhere else. Today for example, I had been looking all over for a battery I needed for my SUV. I drove all over the area looking for the best price and the locations I visited either did not have what I needed nor cared to try to look. I ended up where I should have started, my local Advance Auto store. The price for the battery I needed was more than I wanted, but after talking to the team there, they explained the pros and cons to what I was looking for without being pushy. I ended up going for the more expensive battery based on the conversation I had with Mr. Tone. After I explained to him the special needs my vehicle had and issues I was having with my current battery he suggested that the battery I selected would be a better bet and save me issues down the road. I had some coupons on my account I wanted to use and he figured out the best way to utilize the maximum amount of discounts I could get to help to make the cost of an almost $300 battery hurt a little bit less. Mr. Tone was super helpful, kind, and very knowledgeable and made the entire process so much easier. It was pouring cold rain all day and by this time dark and he still offered to come out and check my starter, alternator, and battery to ensure I really needed a new battery and if so would make it seamless to install. I declined since he had already been more than helpful, but the effort was greatly appreciated. I am once again reminded why this is my first stop when I need something automotive related. Excellent service and overall the entire team is fantastic here. Every time I have entered this store the staff is patient and helpful, and is more concerned with helping the customer than just pushing a sale. Despite being a major chain, this particular Advance Auto feels like a hometown parts store, and that is because of people like Mr. Tone and the entire team, thank you and kudos!

Called ahead, said they had my part, get there, and they don't. Someone didn't do inventory correctly, and also, the person could have gone and checked ahead of time to make sure it was actually in stock. I gave 4 stars, though, trusting that this will be worked on and isn't a constant fluke in their store.

This is Tracie. I went in to Advance Auto tonight in Madison Heights Va to get someone to help me with a dead battery. The one young guy stood in the rain to hook up the instrument to check the battery and said yes it is dead. I stated I know it won’t start without a jump. I said I will buy a battery but I need someone to put it in for me. He said oh no I can’t change a battery in the rain. And went back inside. I went inside to ask the other guy working and he said oh no I can’t do that in the rain either and proceeded to laugh at me as well as the other man standing at the cash register. I said you won’t change a battery in the rain but you will leave me standing in the rain with my car not able to start they laughed again. I shook my head and left.Very poor service and I will not ever go there again. Auto Zone on 29 beside Pizza Hut was very happy to sell me a battery and also installed it for me. You need to do a better job Advance Auto at serving your customers.

Absolutely love the staff at this location. Had a bad experience at a Lynchburg location with the wrong parts. Came over to this location and like always, I was taken care of right away. This store in particular is hands down my favorite. Treated like a VIP every time.

this place sucks. i remember when this place was good and stocked. the employees were so helpful and attentive. disappointed to say the least. they did not have oil for my car. they didn’t have oil for my husband’s motorcycle. they didn’t have any books out to find parts yourself, and the employees acted like they were too busy to help a customer. we immediately left. won’t take my business there anymore ✌?

I went here to get an alternator checked for output. it failed on their machine. I went to two other places it passed. I think the advance Auto in Madison heights needs to get their machine checked.

My best friend was in town for NYE and his battery died. I called Auto Zone and we mistakenly thought it was this place. We get there and the manager tells my best friend to come back at 8 in morning (the day he has to leave AT THAT TIME and then work later that day). So we realized we called the wrong place and went to Auto Zone and they happily fixed his battery and didn’t turn us away in the pouring rain. Auto Zone is the bomb!!

I shopped Advance Auto for years, the store in Madison Heights has given me the wrong part 3x in the last 2 month when I went separate times to pick up my order. I live 30 minutes away, which means an hour each time to exchange parts. The first time I went back to the store to replace an oil pump. The 2nd time roughly a week later ordered multiple cans of fuel system cleaner and they gave me cans of carb cleaner instead. Called multiple times and spoke to several reps who insisted they would give the manager to give me a call, nothing happened, I just kept it because of not getting back up there anytime soon. The next time was yesterday, ordered a 4 pole starter solenoid for my mower and a few other parts, well I get home and it was a 3 pole starter. I called the store and they said I would have to come in to exchange and they couldn't offer anything except for an apology.All the store reps need to do is check the part # during checkout, takes no more than 30 seconds to 2 minutes to read a few part numbers to make sure it is correct. My wife picks up a lot of my items and has no idea what she is suppose to be getting so she assumes it is correct, then when she gets home and it is wrong it does not make for a very good day. I love shopping Advance for the speed perks and deals but wasting an hour each time and gas isn't cheap. I know mistakes happen but 3x in a over a month is a little ridiculous.
