I have been going to auctions for over 40 years all around the country and have been a regular at Pete's for the last 15+ years. Pete's is the best I've ever been to. His New Years auctions are simply incredible. I've had Pete sell numerous items as well and he always gets good prices. His staff is professional, helpful, and very friendly and all of his auctions are well organized and efficiently run. We are moving out of state but I will have no problem driving 8-hours to come back for Pete's auctions. Simply the best in the business!

Pete’s Auction is a rare find in todays online only auction platforms. You can go experience old style auctions with get merchandise and professional service.

Should have gone another route. Even though it's been awhile, still feels like we got ripped off selling our household and shop items.

I have used Pete's as an outlet to sell several of my and my family's items. Some just trinkets and some big ticket items. I have been treated fairly and always been paid promptly with an accounting of each lot sold. Some items were sold in box lots, but this was pointed out as a possibility when I signed the contract. To be fair, I was told beforehand that the items were probably not valuable enough to sell piece by piece. But he took them, and I didn't have to find another way to dispose of them. I went and watched him before I first consigned, and I believe that the way he sells his table items gives the highest return to the consigner. And make no mistake, I am his customer as much as or more than the auction bidder. Without my inventory, the buyer would not have anything to bid on. Overall, I was pleased with my proceeds. Were there things I had hoped would sell for more-yes. Did he get way more for some items than I believed they were worth-also yes. I am not a reselling expert, so I can't judge the market. He put my items in front of interested buyers and that is what made the difference. I will use Pete's Auction Service again when I have more things to sell.

Pete's auction service is not the way to go for an estate. Communication and follow through do not exist. Watch them inventory and take our own. Get a copy when they leave. Do not leave things off the inventory you will never see a dollar. They also send you a post sale inventory where described things as miscellaneous or boxes very disappointing. So much lost. Don't fooled by these folks if you work with them take a complete inventory and be there for your auction or they will take advantage of the situation. Really sad don't use or you'll regret it.

Pete loves to do "winner takes choice", or high bid takes choice. This is a game for "LOSERS"!!! Why? Well, first of all, you aren't really even bidding on what you want. Well, maybe you are, but the person bidding against you is bidding on something different, and you think they may want what you want. So, you are really bidding against what some other person may value some other item at, and that could be more than your item. But, you do not know this. You just want to buy the item, but to do so, you have to bid ... 1) Not even knowing what the person bidding against you is actually bidding on. 2) You have no idea what they will pay, but you are still bidding against them for what you want, but they don't. 3) Pete knows this, and laughs all the way to the bank. This may be the stupidest con game in the world. You may be bidding against someone that you have no idea what they are bidding on, or what the value is of that item. In other words, you do not have a clue what you are doing and might as well be bidding on a sealed box. This is actually pretty hysterical when you think about it. Would you walk into a furniture store to buy a lamp, and bid for "highest paying buyer winning position", knowing that you are bidding against a guy that could care less about your lamp, but he is bidding on the "winning position" to buy a sofa? And he will pay more for the sofa than for the lamp, but you do not know this. You think that he might want your lamp. This "game" is a disaster. For fools. You aren't even bidding on what you want. You are bidding against what other people may be thinking or wanting, and the fact that they are even here, playing such a stupid game, indicates that NOBODY IS THINKING. They just want something, and are willing to be stupid to get it. LOL. "Winning bidder takes choice" is a game for losers. Pete knows this, and treats people this way. Like they are stupid. Pete's a good 'ole boy curmudgeon, but he's not real nice. And it runs in the family. LOL!

I've purchased many items from this auction and have been satisfied with all my purchases. Pete is always clear and precise on the details of the auction before he starts. As with any auction things sell for the amount anyone wants to pay at the auction. I've attended numerous auctions and Pete prides himself in getting top dollar for the items he sells. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful with employees to even help you load your merchandise. I highly recommend Pete's Auction!

Mike and Mandy are wonderful to work with! They are very helpful and provide great customer service! I was able to pick up some great items from one of their recent auctions and truly appreciate all their help in bidding, gathering, and winning the items I was interested in! Looking forward to future auctions!

Commissioned to sell antiques from family member who passed away. Not told when the auction would be. Received itemized list of what sold and only half of what they took out of house was on the list. I definitely do not recommend using this auction house.

Pete's Auction company was very unpleasant. Communication gets no stars. My first experience was asking about an auction and the woman was extremely gruff and rude telling me to go to the website over and over without giving any other information. Finally found the auction.. After bidding for days, Then I received a communication telling me to bid again. That was the last communication from either Pete's auction or their bidding company. NO ONE TOLD ME I WAS THE WINNER!! 5 days later I got a call asking when was I coming to pick up the piano that they said my credit card had paid for! Woman was very rude again when I explained I had no communication, they disbelieved me! She just kept saying the exact same words over and over again to my questions. Never answered my question. The bidding was also unclear. I couldn't tell if there was another bid, also couldn't even tell when the bidding ended because there were two close times. The terms and conditions basically give buyers zero rights even if they don't contact you ! I gave them one star because they did give me what I bought and it works. VERY BAD COMMUNICATION! another friend who was a seller had no communication that anything was sold! Don't use this company!

I have updated previous reviews, this is a new one. Each person/ customer/ client has their own experiences, good or bad. An auction is exactly what it is, an auction. No set price, no bartering, usually no reserves, it sells for whatever the buyer is willing to pay. There you have it in one, what the buyer is willing to pay. Not every auction is the same. Sometimes an item will go for a high amount and another auction it cannot even be sold for a $1 bill. All depends on the day. I will add though, and I have been guilty of it too, all material possessions are not as valuable as you yourself or family think they are. Petes Auction provides a service. All guidelines and legalities are met. No nonsense business. Great place for bargains and I will emphasise, at the price the buyer wants and is willing to pay.We love the place and the people, even our competitors, ha ha ha

A really well run auction house. I've been twice now and it's very consistent. There are food options and the auctioneer is quick and humorous. Premiums are very reasonable too.
