Always receiving mail that does not belong to me. Sometimes mail belonging to persons living across the county. Will seldom leave packages in mailbox for packages at our community mail boxes regardless of how small they are or if the mailbox is empty. Marks packages as attempted delivery as soon as the post office opens and will not deliver even though thay haven't left the building yet. Then gets upset if you forget the pink slip they placed in the box after they decided they didn't feel like delivering. Have tried calling to report issues and always get excuses or the run around. Very rude and unprofessional staff. Always long wait times when you have to go in person not because of too many customers, but because staff is almost never present up front. Very difficult to get an answer via phone.

I usually have a decent time coming to my local post office but after experiencing horrible customer service, I plan to travel out of my way to a different one. I was blatantly ignored and was given a disrespectful tone for no reason. It does not cost to be kind or even say a good morning (I'll be right with you).

The employees are extremely kind, professional and friendly. It is fun to go there and enjoy the friendly repartee between customers and staff members.

Came there to apply for a passport and was greeted by relaxed and friendly post workers. This was the best post office experience I’ve ever had. They knew everyone’s name and who there family was in the time I was there, which was close to 30 people in 15 minutes.

My wife had a passport application rejected; submitted from Charlottesville. She brought all her paperwork to Madison and the most patient lady clerk took the time to get this straight and properly submitted.

Madison Post Office has great difficulty delivering mail and packages to the smaller post offices in the county. Due to being short staffed my PO is only open 2 hours a day now. So I have to plan my day and time around that small window to get my packages etc. only for my package that is supposed to be delivered today isn't. My package has the Hood PO address, my PO Box number and Hood as the city. But for some reason it's "undeliverable as the instructions arents clear". What's unclear about the Hood PO address and my PO Box and mailing city being Hood? It should go to Hood. Who in Madison PO is putting my mail away? No one, the guy at Hood does. So I'll just wait til someone figures out how to do their job and then get my package.

Walked in a 9am today could hear people speaking in the back room so I asked out loud if the were open. No response. Rang the bell placed on the desk and still no answer. All while I can hear people in the back room.

Its the carriers. I live on Oak Park Rd and your carrier will not close my mailbox. My mail is constantly wet from the rain. I had a check that had gotten wet. Just take a few extra seconds and close the mailbox.

Never had a problem at the Madison post office. Staff know local residents and will put mail in the right box every time. Hardly ever a line and they always have a good selection of stamps on hand. Much better than the larger city post offices.
