Edit: the salon went out of their way to make things right, and that goes a long way toward instilling the confidence that, if something does go wrong, they'll help fix things.
Sent my 19 year old here to get a long layerd cut yesterday. She has thick, straight, healthy hair. It hould have been a simple haircut for any stylist! Whoever cut her hair left her with uneven, choppy layers, but styled her hair so it was hard to tell just how horrible the cut was! A wide section of her longest layer was randomly 2 inches shorter than the rest of the same layer in the back! It looked like someone cut a chunk out of her hair! How this place is so well reviewed, I have no idea. If you want to look like you let a toddler take a set of craft scissors to your hair, this is the place.

Im glad so many people have had great experiences here, but unfortunately, I wasn’t one of them. I made an appointment for a haircut in advance and let them know I have wavy hair and would like to learn more about how to take care of it/style it more naturally rather than me styling it with hot tools or looking a tad undone. They said that wouldn’t be a problem. When I got there, I had to wait around 30-40 minutes. The lady was nice, but her eye sight and listening skills aren’t the best because after my hair was washed, she aggressively brushed it and said “see it’s not curly at all” all while I could see little curls forming. I tried to explain myself better but she wasn’t listening. I even told her that if I’m out in the rain and my hair gets drenched, all my hair gets curly and she kept saying that everyone’s hair gets frizzy when it’s damp outside. Then she gave me the worst haircut I’ve ever had (I asked for long layers and some texture at the bottom and she cut some really short, choppy bits in the back amongst other problems). It messed up the work I’ve been doing growing my hair out and my curl pattern will look wacky for a while so I’m really sad about that.
All this for the low low price of $70…. Anyway, I’ll be returning to my regular lady because even though she said she’s not super knowledgeable about curly hair, she gives me a stunning cut for significantly less despite the drive.

While I came in ready for my hair done, this just was not the experience for me. I have never been to this salon before and I will not be returning based on the lack of respect I felt for my hair type from, I believe her name was adelaide. I came in, and she asked me if I wash my hair normally, which I found offensive. A wonderful man named CJ washed my hair caringly, so I strongly appreciated him. I do wonder though if he washed my hair specifically because he was the only person I saw there with my kind of hair. I finally had it when i noticed that adelaide had to ask someone what to do with my kind of hair, so i just felt it was not in my best interest to be there. I tried to give adelaide money since I chose to leave, because I wanted to offer her something. While I respect that she declined because she felt she did not earn it, to place hands on a customer and force them towards the door (not harshly, but still very rude), was just out of line. Finally, in my acceptance to leave without paying anything (which is more than fine), she spoke poorly about me as I was leaving. Veryy unprofessional. All the best to CJ though!

This was my first time at curves and my first haircut in three years. I called to see about a possible walk in availability and somehow got lucky enough to get one with Sam right away (It had snowed that day so I thought I’d give it a shot and it just so happens he had two cancellations). The studio is very cozy and welcoming! Sam was so incredibly sweet and reassuring, I was nervous since it had been a while and I was new here! He asked so many questions about my hair to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I went from about lower/mid back length to collar bone and I love it so much! I feel so much more confident and I’m actually looking forward to the next time i get my hair cut! Will definitely be my new go to studio. (Attached before and after photos)

Today was my first visit for a haircut as a new client and Sam was my stylist! He was so kind and thorough!!
Sam started with a quick consult to go over what I wanted done and he did not disappoint. I have thick Asian hair that’s hard to cut, but he did an amazing job.
I highly recommend :)

My girls and I see Mary and Sam. They are so sweet and kind. They make my daughters feel comfortable and listen to exactly what they want. My girls love to experiment with their hair. Mary and Sam always do a great job with color. Ken has also done our hair and he’s great too. Such a wonderful owner. He treats people with respect and is just so nice.

The moment I stepped into the shop, I was warmly greeted by staff members. Throughout my haircut, the atmosphere felt welcoming, wholesome, and communal. I noticed that there were some regulars there that have established a relationship with the hair stylists there, so I can see that they have built a level of trust with them! Petra did an amazing job with the haircut; she was mindful of what I wanted and my specific concerns. I left very satisfied and will be returning again! Thank you!

I contacted Cuves Hair Studio, and a sweet lady answered, and I asked if I could book an appointment with Ken, and she told me to contact Ken on his contact info. The following day, I tried to book a appointment with Ken and contacted him, but he refused to book an appointment with me because of our past, thought he would give me a second chance, but unfortunately, he didn't. This is a business, so they should take anyone and welcome anyone. I don't have anything against the employees who work there, I bet there all sweet and lovely, but I expected Ken to be a little more friendly and not turn me down like that. I just had to write a review because I've never been turned down like this and disrespected. I just had to write a review based on my experience, and for others to see as well.

This was my first time getting my hair cut outside of my own home in at least 3 years. My last hair cut completely destroyed my confidence and the stylist did things to my hair that I never asked for.
I have naturally curly hair, which I straighten regularly since I am not a fan of my curls. My hair has also been bleached and dyed multiple times, so my ends were dry. I also had natural layers from previously buzzing my head, which I wanted to keep. I decided I could not recreate those layers on my own, and decided to go for a consultation at Curves.
When I walked into Curves for a consultation, the stylists were all very friendly, and the salon itself had a very cozy, homey feel to it. It was a very nice environment with a welcoming ambiance. My stylist, Emily, was very confident in her ability to help me achieve my desired look, and understood the struggle of not being able to trust a hair stylist with your hair, haha.
She helped me to cut layers into my hair, while cutting the dead ends and also cleaning up some bangs that I decided to DIY a few weeks prior. She also straightened my hair before I left. My hair is now much healthier and softer than before, and she succeeded in helping me to achieve my desired look. She did not do anything that I didn’t ask for, and followed reference pictures I showed her.
Curves has allowed me to trust hair stylists again and I think that I will now go regularly to Curves every few months for a trim. My cut and style was $65, and I left a $5 tip, but now I wish I had left more.
My one critique would be that the neck rest on the shampoo chairs starts to hurt after about two minutes, since there does not seem to be any sort of cushioning.
Besides that it was a lovely experience and I would definitely recommend Curves over any of the Haircutterys or such anytime.
Hair type: I have naturally curly hair, which I regularly straighten.
Stylist: Emily, she was very honest and trustworthy. Very friendly.

After bouncing around several stylists, I decided to give Curves a try in late 2023. I only wish I had tried the salon sooner. Emily is a breath of fresh air! She has fixed my hair color with a color suggestion I've never tried before and has given me the best curly hair cut I've had in years.
I absolutely love the eclectic style of the salon.
