I made my reservation on the app and when I went in for move in day there was lots of mice dropping and mold on the door. Very unacceptable conditions. They were fine with me cancelling the reservation but wasn’t refunded the admin fee.
Update:
The district manager reached out had excellent customer service and corrected the situation.

Brandy was great. Accommodated me the same day with the outside unit I needed. Suggested materials needed to keep my belongings safe from the elements. Five years into my storage, the rates have gone up substantially every year including late payments fees. Their Insurance is suggested. Rent is due on the 1st of each month and after the first 10 days the late fee is a whopping 20% of your rental rate for nothing but a small and narrow garage depending on your needs with no climate control or electricity. They send payment reminders several times a month and threaten with liens on the 20th of the month. If your payment is late 30 days they cut your lock and install their own to prevent access and threaten with auction of your goods. I would not recommend Public Storage as they are a money hungry for profit business. Public storage facilities are not regulated in Virginia but should be as they can charge anything they please without recourse including the late fees. I provided this post so you will be well informed and know what you are getting into. It would be wise to check out all public storage facilities in your area should you need storage before making a decision.

I’ve been using this storage since ‘22 and it had been a moment since reentering. I was having some challenges attempting to use the the front gate to enter the property and I was able to speak with the property manager that was present; she was able to assist with addressing payment processing issues I was seeing on my app and help me get my gate code reset properly so I had access. I was happy to find Veronica on the property when I had as it was an easy experience speaking in person to someone helpful rather than a customer service line.

I have been renting space at this location for over 2 years and never needed to stop by the front office until recently. Veronica was so understanding and professional.
Update: I finally had to finally give up my storage unit. On one of my last trips to Goodwill, I got to see Veronica and say goodbye. This woman is so professional and welcoming. I'm glad I got the chance to thank her properly.

I rented a storage unit online and it was the easiest process. They called about 10 minutes later to check in and confirm with me.
Easy access to the facility and to our unit. Using the app to access the gate makes getting in and out easy!
