Food Lion is considered the best and cheapest grocery store in town, with lots of good sales that can compete with Walmart. It has a very large selection of items, including specific products others do not carry, particularly a wide variety of meat cuts. The deli is always fresh with weekly sales. The store is noted for being very friendly, clean, well-organized, and well-stocked, with aisles that are not cluttered. Checkout is quick with multiple helpful and friendly cashiers, and cash back is offered at the register. The staff is friendly and will go out of their way to assist. Customers and employees find it a great place with polite and cordial people.
I've only started shopping there, recently, but I'm very impressed with their prices. And it seems like their expiration dates are further out. Some stores leave outdated dairy items on their shelves, or act irritated if you bring it to their attention. I have not seen any outdated items, at this Food Lion Store.
