The General Francis Marion Hotel in Marion offers a charming and historic stay for visitors. Guests praise the hotel's clean and comfortable rooms, with one reviewer describing the spacious "presidential suite." The hotel's proximity to downtown attractions and restaurants is also highlighted, with the main street location allowing for easy walking access. The hotel has an old-fashioned feel, with features like an antique telephone switchboard that spark nostalgia. Reviewers note the friendly and helpful staff, including the owner "Miss Jerry" who is a disabled veteran. The small on-site restaurant also receives positive comments for its reasonable prices and sweet staff. However, the hotel does have some areas that could use improvement. The uneven pavement and numerous stairs in the lobby can be challenging for guests with mobility issues. Rooms are sometimes cold upon arrival, and the decor and furnishings are dated and in need of updating. Breakfast options are limited, described as more of a "Sam's Club run" than a full hotel breakfast. Overall, the General Francis Marion Hotel offers a unique, historic experience with its charming atmosphere and friendly staff. While some updates would enhance the guest experience, the hotel provides a comfortable and affordable option for visitors to the Marion area.
A beautiful hotel in a pretty town! Will return every chance I get!

My wife and I have stayed here multiple times (various room types) over the last few years and always enjoy the hotel and proximity to local restaurants. We love motorcycling the area during the day, then being able to walk to eat upon our return. The staff is always friendly & helpful. Look forward to our next stay.

A beautiful old hotel! Neither the restaurant or bar was open at 5:00pm. There were no other restaurants or bars open on the town....a little disappointed.
