A good old fashioned hardware store. Like it a lot. However times change & unfortunately most folks today like the you know what....the Lowe's, Home Depot's of the world & yes Mathews own mini version of such: M&M. Now don't get me wrong, M&M covers all the bases..bigger selection, good prices, friendly staff...yet...nope they don't have that old fashioned hardware store feel .. that's cause they're not.. Honestly I hope they both survive..both are good.

I took a chance on getting Clam Chowder at a hardware store.....I should have known better! Quart =$15. 4 cups, right? 3.75 cups of a creamy and bland sauce with maybe 1 tablespoon each of clams and potatoes. How dare you!

Moughons inc. It has a very welcoming atmosphere. All staff that I have encountered have been very helpful and polite. The customer service is great! One of the greatest perks about this establishment when shopping there is all sorts of the local produce, honey, and baked goods they have available are nothing short of amazing.

I have been a customer of Moughons since we moved to Mathews 30 years ago. I have loved their paint and the hidden kitchen secrets in the back of the store. Back in the day I bought equine supplies. I bought pool supplies for years. What I have always loved is that I was greeted at the door and escorted to where I needed to be to find what I needed. Today I took in a can of 'Ace' spray paint that I bought on May 25th. I had been shaking and spraying for an hour with no paint coverage. My husband also shook the can for several minutes upside down. I took the can and the receipt to the store. I also showed them that the paint was not covering even typed letters on an envelope .I asked the cashier for a replacement can of paint and that I wanted to test it before I took it. He took the can of paint to who I assume who was the manager at the time. The cashier came back to tell me that the can of paint could not be exchanged because I had used too much of it (there was over 1/2 of can left). I should store it upside down to see if that helped . When have you ever been told to store your can of paint upside down to make it work? If I wanted another can of paint I had to buy it and couldn't test it first. I could go home and test it and bring it back if it didn't work? I don't live around the corner. For a $7 can of paint, they have lost a loyal customer.

Owner helped me find exactly what I needed. Both owner and wife always go out of their way to see that you leave as a satisfied customer. Always leave with good hometown feeling.
