I stopped by today to return three quarts of oil that I purchased a week ago. My car was leaking oil so I purchased them for that reason. I ended up buying a new car so no longer needed them. The guy working the counter in his early thirties was polite and efficient. The person I purchased the oil from, a man in his late sixties with who uses a cain, was also very friendly and accommodating.

I’ve gone to this location for 10 years but will stop going there. This morning, the guy working didn’t know anything about brake pads and rotors but was pushing me to get what he had in stock, instead of listening to what I needed. He was very rude and I walked out. He needs training on how to communicate with respect and courtesy. You guys lost my business. Will never go there again.

Had a wonderful interaction with Phil, who took the time to help me find a washer for my oil drain plug. Rather than pointing me to the aisle, he actually walked with me and helped ensure that I had the right one. I appreciate the fantastic service and will continue to shop here for my auto part needs.

Exactly as advertised. Great location for the neighborhood to find parts for their cars. You will frequently see people in the parking lot making small fixes to their vehicles. Love this spot.

Last time ever shopping at Advance Auto Parts. Purchased a tool which turned out to be absolute junk quality at this location. First use, the pins bent on very little force. I brought the tool in for an exchange for a sturdier tool. Note: I didn’t want a return I just wanted a tool that was quality enough to do the job it was designed for. I was told that the company policy is absolutely no returns or exchanges on tools or parts of any kind. Although this makes sense to me for someone who would utilize this maliciously by buying a part, using it once, and returning it, I just wanted to exchange for a part I could actually use.The associate was able to initiate a warranty claim and exchange the part for another, which seems more costly than just letting me exchange but I don’t know the economics of the auto parts industry so what do I know?I will try again with the tool this weekend, but it seems absurd that I would not be allowed to return defective or absolute terrible quality parts or tools.The associates were friendly and professional, I have nothing bad to say about them, this is more on the policy of the store and company.Plain and simple I’m not sweating the $20 too much - but it’s the last $20 I’ll ever spend there or at any other location. Use Amazon for cheaper price and hassle-free returns. Even auto zone wouldn’t have given me a hard time i just used this location for its close proximity to my home. Advice: if you’re going to refuse any compromises on even as much as an exchange, start stocking tools and parts that aren’t garbage.Edit: 1 star to 3 starsThey were able to help me find a solution. Just beware that there is a no return/exchange policy on anything at all for anyone considering shopping here

I went there with my service dog after getting a flat and getting a ride there. The guy asked if he was a service dog, which I answered and then he said that I need to prove paperwork for him and asked me to leave the store, which is illegal for him to do so. The law does not require any special paperwork for me to carry around. He was just rude and nonchalant about it and trying to tell me that what he said is the law and the company has a rule that I should have to show some paperwork.... shame on Advanced Auto Parts..... why can't I give no stars???? This whole thing is very upsetting...

Please beware of this McLean Advance Auto Parts store location. Just had a very distressing experience. My wife went to buy a fog lamp for her car at the McLean Advance Auto Parts. When she bought the bulb home, assuming that it was correct, I tried to install it, but the pins were incorrect. I then researched and found it was indeed the incorrect bulb. She went back to the store with the old bulb in hand and they told her that it was the correct bulb and that we were trying to install it low beam headlight by mistake. Sadly for their reputation, this 2008 Highlander does not have separate low and high beam bulbs and the idea that you could mistake the location of the headlight with that of the fog light is utterly ridiculous given that the headlights and fog lamps are in completely different locations, separated by two feet. I returned to the McLean store and they now insisted that my wife had given them wrong information so they gave her the wrong bulbs and that anyway since I had opened the package they were not returnable. I was also blamed for not having checked the bulb through the plastic of the packaging before trying to install it. Don't go back to these people, they're not reliable, knowledgeable nor honest.

Bought a power steering pump. Told them my make and model and they matched it up. Opened the box and it was a used part that hadn’t even been cleaned. Brought it back. Took them two weeks to find me a replacement. The replacement was also wrong fit for my vehicle. I tried to return it but they said they can only take one return. They don’t know what they’re doing. Go elsewhere.

Just called to inquire about an item I need and Phil answered the phone and cut me off to tell me to “check the website” and that if I could hold because he had other customers. People on the phone are also customers and should be treated just like those in store! Absolutely rude for no reason.

Took my battery there for an overnight charge. They didn't charge it and gave it back to me, saying it was charged. They said their machine has been stolen and they can't verify it's charge. Brought the battery home and install it to realize it wasn't charged.

I am so thankful for the excellent service of the most knowledgeable Bashir! I came in looking for a product to fix an issue with my car. Not only was I looking for the wrong product but had I followed a popular TikTok trend, Basmir noted the serious damage I could have done to my vehicle!Lesson learned: Don't believe everything you read on the internet. It's worth it to go into a brick and mortar location when you can speak to actual in the field experts! Basmir was so incredibly helpful and informative! Above and beyond. Will come back to service the store and bother him with my questions :)
