Disappointing customer service. Needed assistance with Treasury Direct certification by financial institution. First request they said they could help (it was for one of my family) but the individual needed a Capital One account open for 30 days before they could certify. So opened account. 6 weeks later called to set up assistance. Capital One McLean then said they couldn’t certify but to come to the office and they would notarize. So we came to Mclean office to get notary. Once there they said they couldn’t notarize or help us at all. Not happy so have moved all of my money out of Capital One.

Very slow workers who made multiple mistakes. Joshua took 35 minutes to issue me 3 certified checks. He messed up 2 of them and had to re-do them. I'm a new Capital One client and this is my first in-branch experience...really not good.

if I could give this bank 0 stars, I would. I am EXTREMELY offended by their customer service. The first lady I talked to was great. I called because I had two charges that needed to be waived. She was able to waive the "interest charges" whatever that means. Then, I asked for a "late payment" charge to be waived. I have been a customer for 10+ years. Never had a late payment because I do everything electronically. Apparently, I got dinged due to a holiday and Sunday. I asked them for a one time exception. This lady transfers me to a "senior executive specialist" who has the most annoying robot voice. She tells me she's a human, which a human watching a teleprompter. She tries to tell me that there are other options instead of getting a late fee. I felt VERY offended she's talking to me like I'm 16. I'm not sure what part of that I've been a customer for 15 years she didn't understand. Makes me want to revisit other banks and close this account immediately.

In 2022 I was just treated poorly and racially profiled at this location. Cashing a final payment check & all I received were stares. Everything on my end in order. Identification, bank card etc. 20min standing around and not a single explanation. Just triple, quadruple checking it. Do they not receive proper training? All that was needed was a explanation for the wait. But not a single courtesy apology. They did all that just to noticed I never endorsed the check til the end. The market manager steps out after I start asking why I was treated differently. I told her I didn’t have another 20 minutes to goof around with her. They could have called the check issuer from the beginning. The number was on a sticky note already written down. Sad that the issuer told them that this only happens when he issued checks to young Latino males. Capital one should be embarrassed. Profiling in 2022. Glad they didn’t see the first check because they would have called the cops the first moment they could. Parisha and the other employee who didn’t share her name should be sent back to training.

Very poor experiences with capital one bank as far as Customer Service is concerned. It's virtually nonexistent inside of the branches especially this branch in Mclean. They pretty much want you to do everything online or over the phone and are only able to able to assist you with a very limited amount of things. In my 20 years of banking I was never forced to go into my app to retrieve my account number which I don't have memorized. I also don't like the attitude of the banker that served me today when I asked her about my check clear date she said to just look at the receipt. I then said but you guys don't clear at least the first 50 or $100 and she said no just look at your receipt it says right here in a not very nice way. If it wasn't for Fast direct deposit I would get rid of my account!

So I have the Cap one Walmart credit card and I have to say I loved it. I do almost all my shopping at Walmart and this card was a no brainer for me. I almost always forget about the due date and end up paying it the night of the due or the day after. Sometimes I pay it off in full early just depends on how my bank account is doing at the time. So this month I paid of the card in full the day before the due date. That was Jan. 11th and it came out of my bank account on the 13th and I get an email from Cap one saying that they have received my payment. I have 0 dollars credit available at this time and of course I call them and ask why? The answer is there is a 5 day hold on my payment but we can get the hold off if we do a 3 way call with my bank. Really come on now. I can see that my bank has taken out the funds any Cap One has sent me a confirmation email saying that they have received the funds but my credit on this card won't be available until 8 am on Jan. 19th.

I used to have a Capital One Quicksilver Rewards card that I used when traveling abroad. Capital One canceled it because I did not use it much. I recently applied for the same card, but Capital One will not approve me for it, even though I have an 800+ score and a high income. They won't provide the reason for rejection over the phone, so I could correct it. Instead, they will send me a letter with an unclear explanation in 7 to 10 business days.

Traveled out of downtown DC to northetn VA in search of an open Capital One but instead found several Capital One banks borded up and one ATM out of service. I really dislike this "bank"...they should have stayed just a credit card company!

Capital one only offers the original apr they have agreed upon. They will NEVER negotiate from what every CSR has told me. I would not deal with a company that sees pure profit over customer. Usually mean they don't care about the consumer.

18 minutes agoNEW Time for that old chestnut, "If I could leave zero stars, I would!" Well...at least I still have my sense of humor! Cap One sent ME a credit card application, which, timing wise, worked out for me as I'd recently shut down a card. I provided all required info. However, when trying to activate, they stated they needed even more info, including copies of my Driver's License, my SS Card (front and back), and proof of address like a utility Bill or bank statement. I provided all of this, yet here I sit, on my third call to Capital One, still trying to get this card activated. If I have any identity theft issues, I'll be looking at YOU, Cap One - my gosh - gave them everything but a kidney. Extremely frustrating, and likely will simply opt for one of the other offers I've received. ALSO - since part of my account number was masked on the bank statement from a different vendor, they wanted a cancelled check or a deposit slip. SAY WHAT? It's an ONLINE ACCOUNT. There are no checks or deposit slips, NOR is it 2005. Wake up and get aligned with the current state of technology and finance, Capital One. Terrible experience and customer service.
